...it's written by diamond dave himself. it's called crazy from the heat and it bascially blows open the entire van halen saga and lays it bare for all to see. it features dave's personal philosophies and even talks about the reunion disaster of 96. it looks darn good!

NO WAY! Really?!!! And it's called "Crazy From The Heat?! What a cool title! Maybe Dave should cover a few tunes and put out and EP and call it "Crazy From The Heat" too!!! That would be so awsome!!! Totally!

It's a great book, but to suggest that it blows open the VH saga and lays it bare is a gross overstatement.

Though it would have been a hell of a read, Dave likely was smart to go light on the VH saga, thereby allowing some of the mystique to remain.

I have to agree with Glenn, Dave wrote a lot without really saying anything.

The book is mostly Dave anticdotes sprinkled with some biographical info. The book demonstrates Daves intelegence at times, but it also points out his ignorance of those around him.

The one really good chapter is the "Reunion Blues" chapter (Chapter 11??). He does go it some detail there that he doesn't do for most of the book.

Its a great book, but not alot of "new" stuff is said.

    Yeah I'm with you 78.

He only had like 8 platinum records selling in excess of 40 million records.

What a loser. Who would give him a book deal?

A book by David Lee Roth? No fucking way! That's killer, dude! I got a sneak peek at the new tunes Dave's been working up with his band the other day, and I'm sure it'll live up to his VH stuff. It was kinda poppy with some keys, and I think the verse went something like "this must be just like living in paradise!"
