Please confirm or deny this rumor

I really want someone to shoot this rumor down because it really upset me. My friend and roomate lives in the Long Island area, and he told me that a friend of his recently sent Eddie some flowers after hearing that he was staying at Stonybrook University for Cancer treatments. Long story short, this person was told "It doesn't look good". Now, again, this is roomate, I trust him, he's like my best friend. Can anyone deny this rumor with info that Eddie was spotted ANYWHERE last month? That he looked okay? I haven't posted in awhile because of computer troubles, but anyone who remembers can tell you that I don't post bullshit. I want this rumor crushed because it freaks me out! But, I just want to hear some facts to prove that it's wrong. Thank you.

total bullshit buddy.

Ed was on Regis (side stage) a month or so ago and looked very good.
Good spirits and all.
He has been doing celebrity golf tournements and according to Denis Leary, he may even play at his tournement on the first of October in Worcester Mass. to benefit the Leary Foundation.

So it is 99% BS, don't worry. He will be fine in no time.

Interesting enough though, somebody (singer25) dropped by and posted a couple weeks ago with a report that ed was in NY getting treatments. Interesting....

i started a thread earlier in the summer about this. the rumor around long island was that the VH family was renting a summer house out in Port Jefferson because it was close enough to NYC for Ed to see doctors, and not high profile like the hamptons or L.A. it made sense cause val was on regis, but then he's at these golf things, etc.

Eddie and Val were also at the premiere screening of "American Sweethearts" about a month ago. He aged, but definitely looked healthy and in good spirits. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

I posted weeks back regarding Ed staying in Port Jefferson. Per that post, I have confirmed that Ed is in Port Jeff for medical treatments. He has been coming to LI every 6 weeks and stays for 2weeks at a time. During the first week of August, he had dinner at a Port Jeff steak house with his Docotor and agent/manager. He was wearing a Hawaian shirt, ripped up jeans, a baseball hat pulled over his eyes and his classic red, white and black high tops. He ate at this steak house on 2 consecutive nights. The second night he had 9 o'clock reservation for 4 people and showed up at 11 o'clock with 10 people. He made a reservation to come the following night with Valerie, but never showed up. The last night he ate at the steak house people began to notice who he was and I think he decided not to show up given that more people would notice Valerie.

I know this information because I was suppose to have dinner next to his table the night that he was a no show.

I spoke to people that waited on Ed and they couldn't have had nicer things to say. He signed one of the bus boys entire catolog of VH disks. He signed their guest book and indicated that he was from "Planet Earth".

Now, Ed has obviously been sick and this has taken it's toll on him. People can say whatever they want about how he looked on Regis, but this cancer thing has been tough. The word I got is that he is beating the cancer, but, there is a reason that he is still getting treatment. As much as I would like to think that the Band is ready to release news, I just don't see that as a reality right now.

It seems unfair for people to say anything regarding a cancer victim without lived through a day with a serious sickness. In the past 5 years, both my parents have battled cancer and beat it ! However, when cancer enters your life the daily routine that you take for granted every day ceases to exist. You think about your kids, their wedding, holidays, that type of stuff.

I don't post that much and don't mean to put a damper on the whole VH thing. With no news from the band, Ed's comments in the golf mag article, and his visiting LI, I think music has a second seat right now. And rightfully so.

PS. Both nights he had prime rib with fresh vegetables.

If I may say, there are many things said (especially by myself *lol*) on this board, and they are very opinonated, weather it is pro-Dave, Pro-Sammy,and everybody here does it. Which I personally think is good, it at least in some respects keeps the band alive. But I will say I have had the good fortune to have never had to experience this disease, either personally or through a family member. That being said, I hope Ed takes the time he needs to get healthy if he hasn't already.
