Hi Guys !
I was wondering if you saw this little video on Kazaa ?
I was wondering if it was Val who present them ?
Im shure that its Val and she sais " my best friend Eddie Van Halen "
Its a good song
EVH: Definitely. Playing guitar was my sanctuary. It was the one place I could go to if I got fucked around by a girlfriend, or anyone else, for that matter. It still is. If there’s something I can’t deal with, I can just spend hours playing. It’s a God-given gift – I certainly don’t know where the ideas come from. They’re obviously given to you, and you have to keep your fingers moving and your mind quiet. I try my best to not think about thinking, so I can just let it flow. Because when I start thinking, forget it. <br />So....why he isn't playing guitar ? ? ?

tune is called "Stomin 8H", I have the clip. The clip I have has the intro, and yes, it's Yoko Bertinelli. There was also a sketch they got Edward to be in. It was a bit about roadies and what do you do with them when off the road? They were havin dinner and had all kinds of roadies in the background, ya know "ok She's up from the table, going to the bathroom in 3, 2, 1..GO!!

Also...(puttin' fire suit on)....although he SHREDS there, from a "licks" standpoint, absolutely nothing new. Just a patchwork of all his usual solo riffs. It almost seems as though he was running low on ideas. Mind you not to many people on this earth can even play like that, but it seems that our boy has run out of ideas, lot of energy, just old ideas. Most parts of the soloing there you can go " Oh that came from this song's solo", etc..... just a thought

That's exactly what he's been doing since 1984 IMO. In fact, you can hear the rut start as early as Fair Warning. Don't get me wrong, there are some high points on most of the albums, but mostly the same old riffs are patchworked differently for each song and called a solo. I wish he'd get creative again. In fact, I thought Woman and Children First" was an awesome album because it was different than the previous ones, but still definitively Eddie. Now he just throws a flurry of notes in, a few tapping extravaganzas in, maybe play with the whammy bar a little... and there you have it. A guitar solo!

Listening to some of the Bootleg stuff (like the zero cd) you can hear a lot of the riffs re-arranged and it's way cool to hear how they have progressed over the years. I am obviously no Eddie but I have a certain pattern that I follow and take the rest from there. If you think about how many songs and solos he has performed over the span of his career he has been exceptionally creative and diverse.

Some people on here are real birds, here is a man that single handidly saved and reinvented the electric guitar, not only the way its played, also the way it is approached, built, designed, its sound, his contributions are endless, and people say he was running out of ideas??What a moronic statement, Wayne Gretzky the greatest hockey player of all time, are we suppose to say after the firts so many years"oh he seems to making the same old passes over and over again, nothing new.."C'mon man get a life..

I thought the beginning solo to From Afar was creative...nothing like he's done b4. Humans Being also stepped away from the usual flare with some single notes. I think Ed's gotten more bluesy and has seemed to play different things these past few years.
