full page picture of dave and paragraph about the pending reunion..says if they re trying to hide it its just getting to big to keep a lid on and everyones waiting. says the reunion would be the biggest news of 2001 and that rumors are flying everywhere in the music biz of a tour and album in jan 2001........now if this kinda stuff is being published in hit parader( more than once !!)would nt some in the vh camp try to publicly debunk these rumors?

Man, that's great news. I'm gonna have a heart attack if this happens.
Something inside of me says that this will be the biggest VH album since 5150. I think its going to have a HUGE single on it.

It will initially be big just because of all the rabid and casual fans (of Dave) checking it out. That's why I figure it's got at least 1 week at #1 reserved.
Granted, whether it will have staying power is yet to be proven. I'm thinking probably... 3 million copies sold tops, maybe 4 if it has a huge single, 5 if it can pull a number one single and a strong followup.

3 million copies? I think you are selling us fans a bit short. Even without a #1 song, it will easily sell 6 million. All of the old Van Halen fans will buy it for sure, even the casual fans. And I think a lot of people are waiting for some good hard rock to come out. The closest thing to that these days is U2, which doesn't begin to compare. kids are getting sick of all this rock/rap shit.
Hit parader is still around? What about Circus?

Van Halen and David Lee Roth aren't about to confirm or deny anything because of what happened in '96. Don't expect them to comment on anything until a final decision has been made.
As for Hit Parader. They're only reporting what's been buzzin' around the internet since late last year. I don't knock them for reporting it but I won't necessarily believe 'cause it's in their publication.

I don't necessarily think it was written as something to 'believed.' The quote said "if it is happening."
But I like that they published it. Anything that keeps this going and hopes alive is just fine.

my point was that these things have been published a few times and noone from either the dave or vh camp says anything to deny it?i mean if it wernt true would nt you be a little irratated or something? and second if if isnt true theres gonna be alot of people who feel slighted because if it isnt true why not just come out and say so? why let the fires keep getting stoked?

It's my belief that VH will go the way of the Rolling Stones and sell a set number of records, but make their real killing on tour. I know plenty of 30-40 year olds who would be very unlikely to buy a new VH album, but who would surely go and see them live. And, like it or not, there will always be a huge number of people who only go to relive past memories. They'll be the ones who chat amongst themselves during the new songs. Of course, all this goes on the theory that VH lasts for more than one more album with Dave. If I'm right, my biggest worry would be how satisfied Eddie would be knowing that such a large number of people are solely concerned with work he did 20 years ago and don't really care about his current artistry.
Without a hit, I don't see them selling any more than around 2 or 3 million albums.
Sorry, guess that wasn't so brief after all.

I have to agree with Glenn on this one. Quick, name the last 3 Stones albums! Can't, huh? But if youre like me, you were at the last 3 tours waiting to hear 30 year old songs, and couldnt name ONE new song off whatever album they were touring behind.
I definitely believe this is what will happen if/when this reunion takes place. All of us VH fans will be going to the shows to hear Mean Street and YRGM, not any of the new stuff (well, maybe not THAT extreme, but you get my point).

How many copies did they sell of "Balance"?
I figure with Dave at the mic, they can easily sell more than Balance. The secret to any success will depend on a big tour, though.
