Default Eddie Van Halen on Les Paul's passing away

EDDIE VAN HALEN (Van Halen): - Les Paul was a pioneer, an innovator and a dear friend. I am deeply saddened at the news of his passing. It was truly an honor to have known him and sit around with him talking guitars. I am especially glad that he, my son Wolfgang and I had a chance to spend some quality time together in the past few years. I will miss him dearly.

    her holy face.

But you are life and you
    are the veil.

Beauty is eternity gazing at itself
    in a mirror.

    But you are eternity
    and you are the mirror.

They had a lot in common, with their innovations.
Nice to see Ed in the press so much these days.
Feels like he's getting back out into the mainstream of society again.

Another modern guitar giant, Joe Satriani, bowed at the altar of Paul, saying in a statement, "Les Paul set a standard for musicianship and innovation that remains unsurpassed. He was the original guitar hero and the kindest of souls. Last October, I joined him onstage at the Iridium club in NYC, and he was still shredding. He was and still is an inspiration to us all."

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

I think Les Paul accomplished quite a lot in his career. To have inspired such greats as Eddie and Joe, that says it all.

The interesting thing about Eddie and Les is that even with Eddie's ego, Les was probably one of the few people that he really looked up to.

That posted picture is from the Film "Chasing Sound"...its about Les Pauls life and career...I just watched it last night. Any fan of music will appreciate it. Its a great little film.

    RIP

I was lucky enough to catch les playing @ the Iridium club about 4 years ago.

We were just walking by and my wife saw the poster outside that said "les paul" I was like, shit, is he still alive and playing?

he was and kicked major ass. We stayed around after the show, met him, and got his autograph...

    Nicest man I ever met...

I wonder if Ed copped that phrase from Les....."I'm a Tone chaser"
If cleanliness were next to Godliness, then that would make you the devil...(CLUTCH)...

I kind of thought the same thing when I first read that post, but at least Ed isn't sitting on Wolfgang Amadeus Meatloaf Mtn, oblivious to the world.

Hmmmm...maybe this is like an Agatha Christie mystery where someone is going around killing off all the people Ed has jammed with. Look out, Brian May!

I bet Valerie did it. She's the one you'd least expect.
