I think this was probably their best unreleased song, and was recently wondering which album it would fit best on. I was thinking Fair Warning because it's kind of a fast and heavy song that would fit right in it.

It'd fit well on Fair Warning, I agree. Either that or the first album. Killer tune!

It was obviously on the WB demo but was apparently also recorded during the Diver Down sessions and intended for DD and later 1984. I guess I could imagine it being on either Diver Down or maybe WACF.

Yoda!
No shit that tune was recorded during the DD sessions? Recorded in a studio? Why do I see it on the early '77 boots?

Yeah, I think this would have been a better track list for DD:
1. Where Have All The Good Times Gone!
2. Hang 'em High
3. Cathedral
4. Secrets
5. Intruder
6. (Oh) Pretty Woman
7. Big Trouble
8. Little Guitars (Intro)
9. Little Guitars
10. Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now)
11. The Full Bug
12. Happy Trails

The version on all the boots is (I'm almost sure) the WB demo version. I don't think a version exists in the bootleg world of the song done after that. Here's the direct quote out of the VHE.
"There were two studio versions of this unreleased song recorded. It was first recorded for the 1977 Warner Brothers demo and then rerecorded during the Diver Down sessions in 1982. This song was intended for Diver Down and later for 1984, but appeared on neither."

Big Trouble is the best unreleased VH tune ever.

Big Trouble is my second favorite unreleased Van Halen song. My first fav is Put Out The Lights. Both songs sound like they could have been on the first album.

Yes, along with the unreleased Van Halen song called Big Trouble, there is also a David Lee Roth song called Big Trouble that is on the Eat Em and Smile album. They are two totally different songs.

I prefer the Van Halen song "Big Trouble" over the DLR solo song "Big Trouble"....
Both good tunes, but the Van Halen "Big Trouble" is a few notches better!
".....whoa!.........I'm out the WINDOW!!!"
The lyrics to Big Trouble are similair in nature to "One Foor Out The Door"

I love Big Trouble, and one of the coolest things about it is that Mikey is just THUMPING on it. It's too bad Mikey wasn't louder in the mix all these years; on the bootleg of VH on December 20 1977 Mike is loud as hell, and it sounds awesome, without sacrificing Eddie's guitar at all.

It's such a great tune. I wish it had been on an album so more people would have gotten a chance to hear it...
(course, most of us here are so fanatical, I'm sure most of us HAVE heard it)
But I guess what I mean is I wish the song made it on an official album. I think it would have worked well on Fair Warning or Diver Down.
