I had this song cranked on the way to work today and realized what an amazing solo Ed has, and I think the song is very underated. Any thoughts?

Not only is Mine All Mine an underrated song, I think the whole album is underrated. I like the whole thing and if I was asked to pick the best song off that album that would be impossible for me, but if someone was holding a gun to my head, I would have to say: When It's Love.

Haven't listened to OU812 in a while. I'll give it a spin in my truck on the way home from work today.

One of the best VH songs. Today after more than 10 years it sounds fresh and new, this should be VH direction for the future posibly without singer!! only pure music!

I think the best part about this song is the opening keys! I love that part. Sammy singin' the chorus is a kicker too!
And I do think that this is an underated song, and album for that matter, underated big time.

OU812 is a really great cd. One of my all time favorite. Surprizingly, the whole cd was done very quick, with almost no producing. I recall Sam saying they just went into the studio and "did it". Source of Infection was recorded in one take. There's just a good flow of music from begining to end. Nice blend of songs. Like Buschman said, I'd be hard pressed to say which is my favorite.

Mine All Mine is a very well written song. Start to finish. Synth, guitar, drums and bass, vocals. Good lyrics.

When It's Love. Great song.

A.F.U. (Naturally Wired) Good, tough song. Great guitar. Incredible pipes from Sam on this one. I remember a "Lite-rock" stations playing this song in the background saying "We don't play this kind of music on our station.

Cabo Wabo. Legendary.

Source of Infection. Again, cool song with some great guitar.

Feels So Good. Legendary.

Finish What You Started. Legendary. (Has a cool story behind the writings of this song)

Black and Blue. Cool, bluesy type song. Cool lyrics. Probably my least favorite on this cd.

Sucker In A Three Piece. Probably my favorite when I first bought it. VERY Van Halenish type song. Smokin' guitar. Slow start, fast finish. Great Alex-style pounding drums. Mike A. back-up vocals (REALLY could turn up the bass on this one, though) And again, that phenomenal, ballsy, gut-wrenching, starts at your toes, vocals. I really love the lyrics, too. (Kinda sounds like he's describing Ray Daniels,eh? [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) "Look at all that money, baby. you know your sugar daddy...you my sugar momma...Hey! YOU'RE BOTH A MOTHER FUCKER!"

A Political Blues. A bonus track back in the day. Still a cool blues song.

I've actually worn this cd out. It skips bad now. I've been waiting and hoping when they remaster it (boy does it NEED it), I'll buy a new one.

"mine all mine" is my favorite van hagar live opening song- they opened with that in Groton, CT in '93- right after a huge thunderstorm drenched the whole crowd - just AWESOME!
