Considering Joe Elliot was 18 to 19 when most of the OTTN lyrics were written, I give him a pass on some of the drinking and partying songs.

"Overture", that was pretty good for a bunch of teenagers. You can see some of the melodic future taking place.

They were also working on early lyrics as well, making changes.

The song "Medicine Man" from 1979/80 eventually became "Rock Rock Till You Drop".

The song "When the Rain Falls" from 1979/80 eventually became "Let It Go".

At the time Sugar was great. Then it became a giant hit and I got tired of it real quick. So, now anything on that album is better to me. lol I feel the same way about Animal, Armageddon It and the title track. Sick of all of them.

I still like Rocket and Women, though. I remember liking Run Riot a lot back then. But I haven't heard it in a long time.

I think for most of us, High 'N' Dry is the favorite. The albums that followed were WAY overproduced and sound too manufactured.

What's ironic is they actually used a full drum machine setup on "Pyro" BEFORE Rick lost his arm.

Speaking of drum machines, I thought it was bad ass that Rick got a standing ovation for like a minute at the rock n roll hall of fame induction.

Rick Allen's tragic car accident took place on 12/31/84, which was my 21st birthday and the day after Lebron James was born.

I had always heard it hinted at, but this confirms (and maybe everyone already knows this) that there are no real drums on Pyromania, it's all samples through a computer program.

That's kind of lame. It's still a great album.

Stagefright was a great one from the deeper cuts(non-singles). Great concert opener as well.

people can say how keyboards cause '80s music to not have aged well in some instances, but i disagree - I think it's the phony drums.

As a drummer, I never really cared for the phony drums.
Unless it’s the music in EVERY episode of ‘Knight Rider’.

I love Def Leppard. I have most of their albums. I actually got to see their concert a few years ago. My favorite album is Pyromania. Favorite song is Rock of Ages. I love that they have persevered and kept their band going in spite of their 2 major tragedies-- Steve's death and Rick's accident.

I'm sure Its been posted before in regards to Pyromania.

The Deluxe Edition of Pyromania is a must have. It includes a live performance from L.A. in 1983 that really captures DL in their prime.
