Viv took the money it was the smart move. How is he doing? Didn't he have cancer?

He did. Itís in remission. Heís doing well. And I canít speak of the financial arrangement. Not only is it rude to speculate but I can assure you, he isnít on food stamps. And I can also assure you heís making more money with DL than he would in any other venture.

I can also assure you that he can play circles around anyone else in that band but wonít.

I'm sure he would have been fine in DL. But it was great that he returned to IM.

Joe Elliot also brought it up a few years ago(2018 ish). Mentioned Adrian Smith and John Sykes came in, but Vivian Campbell was the #1 choice all along.

Even though Phil would never admit it, VIV has been a great influence on him over the years. Phil's solos (LIVE and on CD) are much less busy and overplayed, even on the Pyro/early stuff that he used to just play a million notes fast on...haha...

has there ever been anything said on what that deal is at the end of Pyromania? I don't think it's part of "Billy's Got A Gun" - must be just their version of "Growth"?

I believe I read, when he joined, that he got a full share in DL. They never messed about with hired guns, or anything like that. Steve Brown being a notable exception when Viv & Phil had to miss shows recently.

The hidden track at the end of "Billy's Got A Gun" is called "The March of The Wooden Zombies.

ďAnd what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever Ė that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both Ė thatís intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.Ē - David Lee Roth
