...And the band isn't going to do anything just for money or just to be
popular if they don't believe in it. They could have gotten millions to
reunite with Roth in 1996, but didn't. They could have joined the Sam and
Dave tour and made unGodly amounts of money. But, they chose not to. It's
never been about the money with VH and it never will.

    In VH we trust,

    Brad
The Official Van Halen Web Site

.....and if Eddie goes with singer #4 it won't be about the money either when the sickingly sad cd sales for VH4 starts tallying up. Listen up you all. Brad is preparing the masses for another non Dave or Sammy cd. You can bet on it.

Why the fuck not? He could cover this great George Harrison song and have Ed, Al and Mike sing backup on it.

    Lyrics:
Back then long time ago when grass was greenWoke up in a daze
Arrived like stangers in the nightFab - long time ago when we was fab
Fab - back when income tax was all we had
Caresses fleeced you in the morning lightCasualties at dawnAnd we did it all
Fab - long time ago when we was fabFab - you are my world you are my only love
And while you're in this worldThe fuzz gonna come and claim you
But you mo better wiseWhen the buzz gonna come and take you awayTake you away
Take you awayThe microscopes that magnified the tearsStudied warts and all
Still the life flows on and onFab - long time ago when we was fab
Fab - but It's All Over Now Baby BlueFab - long time ago when we was fab
Fab - like this pullover you sent to meFabAnd You've Really Got A Hold Me
fab - long time ago when we was fab

Van Halen reuniting with Dave and/or Sam would surely not be for the money. It would be for the fans mostly. The music they made with those two guys brought a lot of happiness to a large mass of people. VHIII brought a lot of unhappiness to the majority of people. Also, at this point the fans are pretty pissed that Ed and Al chose not to say anything about the band for such a long time. It's just that simple. Yes, Eddie did have cancer and that is a lot to deal with but what about Alex?
Anyway, that's just my take on this.

Oh, Eddie and Alex are just so noble, aren't they? Give me a fucking break ...

Fuck Brad Starks. The guy makes a bigger jack-ass out of himself every time he opens his mouth.
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

This comment does make one think that a reunion will not happen.

A 4th singer would be a disaster for the band known as Van Halen.

Starting to think that Ed has several singers on HIS next release. Whatever...........

Anyone still have their old copies of the Inside magazine? I remember the issue on the #3 World Tour (the one with Eddie and a purple guitar on front). There was an article in there with Alex asking him about the album sales. He replied something like they wouldn't be touring if the album wasn't selling. You can find the article and read it yourself, but basically Alex was saying, It's about the money.
    Your favorite band sucks.

Sammy says it best right here:

Would you do it for love?
Would you do it for pride?
    If you gave it away
    Woud you be satisfied?
    On your hands and knees
    When the price is right
    You said you believe
But would you stand up and fight?

I think you better ask yourself
    Before you criticize me
Are you a victim of the system
    Of the powers that be?
If there was nothing to gain
Would you do it for free?
Would you do it for me?

Give it away in the bedroom
What you sell in the street
You spend a fortune on rags
And strip it down to the beat

I think you better ask yourself
    Before you criticize me
Are you a victim of the system
    Of the powers that be?
If there was nothing to gain
Would you do it for free?
Would you do it for me?

Are you in love with what you do?
    Are you satisfied?
Is your heart straight and true?
Or did money make you tell a cold faced lie?

I think you better ask yourself
    Before you criticize me
Are you a victim of the system
    Of the powers that be?
If there was nothing to gain
Would you do it for free?
Would you do it for me?
"Keep honking buddy. I'm reloading..." -The Mard

    "......HEY!.............alright............." -BIG FOOT

" I know what you're thinking: "Do I want to watch Mard? We know that horses were very strong and could actually stop airplanes from flying away. The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!

But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!-

I tend to take this view point. If VH ever does reunite with Dave and/or Sam, it'll be because they really want to do it, not just because someone throws millions of dollars at them. That's what Brad was trying to say, I think. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend him, but I think he was just saying VH will reunite with Dave or Sam for the right reasons, not for money or popularity. Curiously enough, that actually makes sense (at least to me)!

Well Brad is right in one respect, it definitely isn't about the money anymore, because there is no money to be made like '96 anyway. Most of the rock world has forgotten about Van Halen anyway, a comeback would only mean something to those fans still left.

The '96 MTV Video Awards appearance was forced by MTV and Warner Brothers Records. Eddie did not want to do it.

If it's not about money, fame or popularity why do anything at all?...Just go into the studio at 5150 and jam with whomever you want whenever you want...If it's not about money, fame or poularity why record anything? Why tour? Why SAY anything at all?

Brad is an ASS who talks out of his ASS?

    Place your bets...
How many more ways can Brad say something without saying nothin? Just when you think he's run out of ideas...
