I think i've solved it...

Okay, I'm not here to piss anyone off, or say I know something I don't. But throughout the summer, I posted fairly often, maybe once a day. I've stopped lately, only because I, like many others here are extremely tired of the waiting. But finally...after about 2 months, these facts have donned on me:

1. The people that peruse this website are a tiny, tiny, tiny fraction of the people who will buy a new VH album. 99% of Van Halen's fans probably have no idea that this Cherone fellow is even out of the band. Now, we all feel like they're torturing us because we've followed VH's career every single day in some way, however, most "regular" fans just know little things like "release dates, tour dates e.c.t"

2. I've read many comments like "The suits at WB will make sure that no one will bring up VH or Regis will be shot". That's obviously an exaggeration on my part. But the point is, I love VH, but c'mon...do you think this is really THAT big of an announcement...If Val went on Politically IOnncorrect and said Eddie and Dave were buds again, most people wouldn't give 2 shits...only us die hards would care.

3. It is for these reasons that i tend to believe rumors that people have said from "peavey reps" and even bumping in to the band themselves. I'll bet 1 M dollars that if you walked up to any member of VH and asked them what was going on, they'd tell you flat out. They don't give a shit, they know no one would believe you anyway, and honestly, they have lives and don't care.

So, finally, i'm taking the advice of Sherman, and even Truth, and I am going to live my life, and patiently wait for an album in 2001.

Actually, this was all over the radio last year when it happened (I heard about it before I was a rabid VHND visitor). That plus the search for a new singer has been mentioned on mainstream media places like VH1 a number of times. I'd imagine most people that care about the band know Cherone isn't with them anymore.

I disagree bizzatch.

I think certain elements of what you say may have truth to them, but not as drastic as you have concluded.

I think this whole thing has been orchestrated by WB, contractually Ed has no choice. It'll be a big deal when they do it, if they do it right. And these details and Ed's health are what are delaying it.

The main reason I have faith is that I am sure if it was totally called off, Dave would blow the whistle to the fans like he did last time. Reread the open letter. Worst case scenario is that even Dave isn't sure (because of details) but not ready to declare it over yet.

Methinks we'll have an album and a tour with Dave. Depending on it's success, who knows...

Actually most people proabably dont know Cherone was in VH!!!

I don't think they would. Otherwise, Mikey would've already been kicked out of the band for talking to fans at one of those NAMM thingys.

I agree with you all, and obviously I exaggerated a whole lot !

But still, Van Halen has to do less than we think to keep this whole thing a secret. I mean, the fact that it's been kept secret from us diehards is pretty amazing/suspicious, but still....

some of you guys are going overboard when you say that WB could sway someone like Regis. If Regis wanted to talk about VH for 45 minutes I bet he damn well could of !! Woops!!! there I go with those damn bets again!!! Anyone else want in ? hehe
