Yep. I called them. I asked them about Van Halen.

"Are you still working with Van Halen?" I ask.

"Hold on please," they say.

After a few minutes, another lady comes on the phone...

"Any questions regarding Van Halen must be addressed to his attorney..."

"His attorney? Do you mean the band's attorney or some attorney for Edward Van Halen?"

"It's just Ed's attorney. Here is the number..."

So I call the number, and guess what? NOT A WORKING PHONE NUMBER!

Next, I call WB and ask them if they have any current VH knowledge...

NO.

So I ask them for a number for Ed's attorney. They have no idea who that is at this time. They have never heard of the name given to me by SRO.

BUT, they did say a GREATEST HITS album is NOT ON THE AGENDA any time soon.

Sorry, guys. I tried. I even called SRO back to make sure I had the right name and number. I'll keep trying.

Has anyone ever heard of such secrecy in the music industry before?

VH should have done what many other band's do...announce a break up and then get back together in 3-4 years. That way no one is expecting anything. Here we are with our mouths drooling for years with absolutley nothing except the summer tour including SH MA and DLR.

I already tried that when I was in negotiations with them, the answer was "I cannot comment on the band" and that was that.
