In this month's new issue of GUITAR ONE MAGAZINE, the band Saliva is featured. I think they are considered nu-metal as well..
During their interview the lead singer Josey Scott, along with the guitar player, bring up the fact that Eddie Van Halen was one of the few players they heard growing up who really expressed himself on guitar and was really creative etc... They seemed to mention that Eddie and Randy Rhoads where two players that really blew their mind.
Just another example of the time-less influence of VH.

I think if VH goes out on tour again in any form, that Saliva is one of the few groups with energy to open up for them, and bring their fanbase of new kids that would dig VH too.
I've seen Saliva twice and both times they put on a killer high energy show. They always hang out afterwards and shoot the shit with the fans, sign autographs, and take pictures. The first major cd release had quite a bit of rap rock on it, but the second seems to have alot more singing on it. I really dig their energy, and would love to see how they translate in a big venue with a big crowd. Cool of them to give VH props.John 3:16, Can You Dig It?
People, the 6 wings of the Mighty Van Halen will fly again! Can You Dig It?
You gotta give more than you take! Can You Dig it?
And underneath the arch, it turned into a march,
and there He found a spark to set this fucker off!
Set it off, set it off now children, set if off!
We are down the road! I Can Dig It! Can You?

Its always cool to hear bands give major props to VH. I like saliva a lot. I think their second album total rocks. It has a hint of rap-rock. But a overall good album.

It’s not exactly damning conversations. From what I got it seemed like it was a corny joke about Canada being a state. I mean, I’d take you guys in our country. But y’all need to make some...
