" I know what you're thinking: "Do I want to watch Mard? We know that horses were very strong and could actually stop airplanes from flying away. The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!
But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!- MARD-The Movie

If Mike is really doing this, we could be a LONG way away from any new VH music.....
I would be surprised if Ed and Al would be happy about Mike hangin and playing music with Sammy again.
If we are that far away from VH music, I hope Mike does do this. It would be fun !!

Doesn't matter whether Mike does this or not - the next, only and last time we will ever (possibly) see Van Halen will be when (if) they are inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame!

Everyone else would do themselves a big favor to convince themselves of the same.

SUPERGROUP UPDATE!:
This is a little further information available about the proposed Super Group involving Sammy Hagar, Neal Schon, Deen Castronovo, Slash and hopefully Michael Anthony.
The project is set to start officially after this coming US summer. Sammy Hagar is about to announce summer tour dates, Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo have 2 months of Journey dates already booked and Slash is working with Izzy and Duff on a record.
Once these commitments are fulfilled, get ready! In the meantime, I hear there is some chance of the guys meeting to write and record one or two songs to start the publicity ball rolling. Don't expect any official announcements for this group for a little while yet!
hmmmmmm I remember when I was at Woodstock in 1994 Slash and Neil jammed with Paul Rodgers on stage....so it's possible...

So maybe Mike was telling FULLBUGAZ the truth about doing music with Sammy, maybe not a solo album, but maybe a supergroup or just a tour of some kind.
With that said, maybe what he told Rols about Dave is true also.
Until they yank the rug out from under my feet, I still think it can happen.

Sammy must be the hardest working performer in rock. It is clear the Eddie was lying when he questioned Sam's work ethic. 3 albums, tours, products, bar all since being canned. Amazing how a 54 year old is still trying to put together a great band with a great sound.
I'm sure Hagar feels the clock ticking. He may have enough time to get one or two albums out with this lineup and leave a mark. I doubt that Mikey, who isn't getting any younger, wants to sit around for Eddie and Alex. I'm sure Sammy and Eddie- Alex- Mike can perform in some capacity into their 60's but it would be much different. I know the VH boys are a little younger but even if they got Dave back today it would be summer 2003 before a tour was in place. IF (big if) they got their shit together they may be able to do 3 more cds before the end but that isn't going to happen. I remember going to see The Who in 88/89? and hearing about how they were in the 50's and couldn't do it much longer and they really haven't done much since. A few other short tours but nothing ground breaking (are they in the studio?). If HSAS_C is able to get rock back on rock station it would be ground breaking.
BTW- someone needs to tell Dave he looks like a freakin idiot on his web site. Talk about someone with no ability to adapt to changes in times. PSSST Dave... Your not in your 20's anymore and it isn't 1984 anymore... grow the *uck up. Try and do something relavent. I guess when you haven't done anything worth a crap in 15 years you just don't know what to do.
From what I've seen here- Mike doesn't really have anything to do with VH other than as a hired hand and could be let go at anytime. If he has any smarts he will abandon ship and take a chance on putting out an album or two with some great performers with the chance for one more big tour.If you want a little peace, sometimes you got to fight
We got to walk through the darkness
Before we stand in the light.

There's no Van Halen, there's no Black Crowes, there's not much in the way of good old foot stomping, ass kicking rock-n-roll anymore period. It appears that the musicians are as disheartened by the state of music as the fans are too.
Could this be magic?
