This may better fit in the songs/albums/videos category, but I was thinking about Van Halen songs that fit the mood of the tragedy. Here's a couple I came up with.
1. Feelin' - Best I could think of. The lyrics really match. "I'm feelin', I'm feelin', I'm feelin' things that show what I seein'." The passion Sammy sings this song with totally fit the mood. The song pretty much says, "What the fuck is this? And how will I deal with it?"
2. Seventh Seal - "Brokin' down, I can't help but feel, someone cracked the seventh seal." "Under darkened skies, we'll see the light" (One of my favorite lines ever in a VH tune)
What do you guys think?

I definitely agree with "feelin'" - that's a great one.
But to be honest, one of the songs that really has struck me to be a song that really conveys emotions that I think would not necessarily be readily available in NY at this moment but possibly later on after everyone's strong perserverance and determination has paid off would be Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly."
As Billy Graham said earlier today, the nation can either implode and disintegrate emotionally and spiritually or become stronger.
"Moving on is a simple thing, but what it leaves behind is hard." - Dave Mustaine

Good call AxeSlinger84.
Another tune I HOPE doesn't apply is "Judgement Day". Whoo! Chilling.

Achievements:
To be honest, I haven't even been thinking about VH the past week. The band seems so unimportant to me now. Just MHO. Maybe in a few weeks, I'll actually wanna listen to 'em again...

Yeah, I was just thinking about that one today."It's so damn hot... milk was a bad choice." --Ron Burgundy, Anchorman

After we've mourned our loss and begin to rebuild -- we will need a song that truly reflects the indomitable American spirit to show the world who's "back in circulation" I'm talking about "bright lights, city lights."
Of course, YANKEE ROSE.

How about
VOA???
Sure it's a Sammy solo tune, but I think it's fitting...especially when it comes time to respond."Once the final BAN has been completed I will ban myself." -OLO, March 21, 2002
"The price of the steak sandwich over there is ridiculous!!" -Glenn, March 3, 2003
"Hang on, I'll go ask everybody and be right back." -seenbad, March 11, 2003

They played Eagles Fly?!
Cool!
Which network?
Some car commercial is also playing "Space Station 5" with Sammy's old band Montrose.
Anyone else heard this?
