Confirmed - DLR in Atlanta May 3rd!

96 Rock / Jose Cuervo stage, May 3rd (Friday night)

I will be there with my sheepskin chaps on, aviator glasses, =VH= painter's cap, sequined shoes, ripped fishnet tank top... and, I might be able to get my mullet going by May 3rd.

Okay, maybe not dressed like that - BUT I'M ALL OVER THIS SHOW! I was jealous of the folks who saw him last summer, and it's MY TURN NOW!!!!!!

Anyone else making it to Music Midtown this year? LET'S HEAR IT!!!!!!

As great as it is that Dave is playing, I hope he just doesn't keep relying on the VH material.
Is he not proud of what he did as a solo artist?
The fans want to hear Van Halen, I understand that, but they also want to hear Eddie's guitar, to me its the same reaction/let down hearing Sammy or Gary singing pre-5150 material.

I wouldn't mind hearing the VH-heavy set that Dave treated his fans to last summer... but if he plays more original stuff, that's cool too. I saw the Skyscraper tour here in Atlanta and I dig Dave solo, too.

Man, I'm just so starved for any sort of live Van Halen, DLR, or quasi-VH that I don't even care anymore!!!

I agree. I thought Dave was great in 2001. But it wasn't Van HALEN, and the all-VH act is starting to get old. I would like Dave to do more solo stuff at his shows, maybe a 50-50 split. Why bother doing solo music like DLR Band if you don't intend to perform it live? That's what rock and roll is all about!

That's a great idea - it shouldn't be that hard to sneak in a disposable camera or something... I'll try and do that and get the pics posted at vhnd.com....

I imagine Mr. Green will be there, although the tiki dude said he was kicked to the curb, if I remember right. Just look for the guy with the big shiny head. You say, there's lots of bald guys, I say, he's the one you don't want to fuck with. That's the guy. Animal should be there too.

Seeing as Dave didn't get to "Save The Day" in Atlanta last year, I'm sure it will be the similar show as what was last summer. Then again, maybe he'll break out some of his "new" tunes (oh wouldn't that be loverly!)

But hey, if you haven't seen it (and even if you did see it) - it should be a good show!

Yeah Warhead, I went to High School with Jeff, he is a bad mother. Great dude though. I remember we were having this big brawl in High School with another grade, he picked this one kid up with one arm and threw him about 10 feet into a pool, it was classic. I hope he's still in the DLR camp.

Music Midtown is an awesome 3 day music festival and I'd highly recommend out of towners to come see it. In addtion to DLR some of the other bands are Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Jethro Tull & Incubus. The crowds can really suck but are generally not too hostile. I think you're allowed to bring in cameras as long as they don't have a detachable lens. I took a disposable camera in a few years ago with no problems.
