I was watching a tape I have a while back of MTV's coverage of the Viva Van Halen Weekend when they opened the Cabo Wabo cantina. It was almost sad to watch. The band is cruising through town on ATVs, soundchecking "Best of Both Worlds" at the club, eating tacos, and goofing off. Times have certainly changed. It's nice to see them have fun, like they always seemed to do. They're even all sitting around singing along when Ed strums "Cabo" on an acoustic. Anyone else remember this? Van Halen, whether with Dave or Sammy, always were the fun band. I hope they learn to recapture this spirit sometime soon. We could all use a little fun around these days.
"I read somewhere that 77 per cent of all the mentally ill live in poverty. Actually, I'm more intrigued by the 23 per cent who are apparently doing<br />quite well for themselves." - Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead)

I hope GOOD TIMES come back again.
"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone
"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth

Yes! "Where have all the 'Good Times Gone?' Ever heard of the axiom "Change is the only constant?" However, we can only hope that (hopefully in the near future) there will be some sort of reunion, so are existential needs will be fulfilled!

Hopefully, Eddie will come to his senses one day ...
[ December 19, 2001 at 01:32 AM: Message edited by: Wolfie3 ]</p>"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne
"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello
"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

I remember it like it was yesterday. Good question posted earlier, "Where have all the good times gone?"

Great post The Full buD
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Please elaborate on these far left websites I'm always citing. I'm truly curious. It does matter when you're making that accusation. Fitting coming from the guy who posts from Breitbart, Epoch Times,...
