OU812 has no producer and a couple questions

how come OU812 has no producer credited? Anyone have problems getting the 'Cabo Wabo' sound dialed in on your rig? Interesting that they went with a big name producer for Unlawful, Andy Johns. Is this a result of the lack of a producer for OU812? I sure would have liked to have heard them with Bob Rock at the helm.

The producing was done pretty much my Donn Landee and Ed.

Understood. I just found it amazing that this albums credits no "producer." A rarity wouldn't ya say? Why not just say Produced by EVH and Don Landee?

From what I remember reading is that Ed was considering the band much more of a family at the time. He was also just thumbing his nose at Warner Bros. for all of the years that they wouldn't let him produce an album himself. But after the commercial success of 5150 he just put "Recorded By" etc.

From the sound on III I'd wager Don Landee had a lot more to do with OU812 than Ed.

I'd really like to know how much involvement the band had at all on III. Gary mentioned that he hoped that Mike would be more involved on the supposed followup than he was on III. I wonder what Mike's involvement was period? You can't hear his signature backing vocals. I also remember Sammy stating that Mike didn't even play any bass on III. Anyone?????
