The Dome closes TONIGHT...until July??

Attention All Pleasure Dome members:
The Pleasure Dome message boards will be closing for a software upgrade and re-design beginning June 20 12:01 AM PST.

We will be upgrading to a brand new version of the Dome with a whole new look, new features and a new release of the message board software.

Please write your username and password down so you'll have it when the new board opens on July 15, 2001.

All current members will be migrated to the new board with all of your statistics intact. This will include registration date, number of posts, etc.

Thanks to everyone for their involvement and we'll see you in July!

This was posted on the Dome last night and has already been announced in the other "Dome" thread by our very own VHLinks Interior Decorator...Rod Dangle! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

So, the question that BEGS to be asked is...

Does it really take 2 weeks to update a board like the Dome? You don't really think that we might actually HEAR something from someone in those 2 weeks, do you? All I know is I'm going to HEAR and SEE Dave this Friday night so maybe we'll get the scoop early. Is this a big deal or just another smoke-screen meant to piss us off...

Kinda suspicious that Brad bars the door and shutters the window the week before Dave takes the stage, isn't it?

Our revamp and upgrade here took place relatively transparently. Somebody must have told Brad to pull the plug.

It does make me curious I'll admit MikeL.
Who knows? I rarely ever went to The Dome myself, so if it were to close down all together, it really wouldn't bother me personally...

Maybe something's up? Perhaps VH is getting ready to make a serious announcment: i.e. : "We decided to call it quits as a band" ????!!!???

And given that, they didn't want to have the PD get flooded with shit-loads of traffic...

Whaddya think? Am I stretching things a bit????

me thinks mikey is right here folks...

the band has seen how negative the board is...mike and al anyway. they probably want that thing down until dave's tour is done so they don't get badgered anymore. people are gonna (or would) flood the heck outta that thing when dave starts his shows.....but they can keep it quiet by pulling the plug wheh he is doing his thing. mike is right, it doesn't take 3 weeks to put up the new board.....depending on its features. brett and tim could probably shed some more light on that.

beyond that when the board opens back up, i don't think we'll hear jack shit unfortunately.

and if we do, seenbad has been right all along...about the cancer comments from dave et al....then they all get back together and things look hunike dorie.

i'm pullin for ya seen.....but i think its goinna be a pop up ta short here.

besides, none of eddymon's sources have said anything about this.....*yet* [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

I was thinking the same thing. Full security here at the links for the next lil while.

I really dont anticipate that Van Halen will make any announcement after the upgrade.

I agree. Something is askew with VH. I suggested so at the PD under one of my several names [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img], and of course the mods replied with smart-ass answers. I figured they were trying to avoid an onslaught of negative posting, or they would have warned people about the cessation of new registrations BEFORE they went and closed them off.

Anyhoo, for any PD'ers who need a place to rant, rave, or get the bull shit outta their systems, TimPabs' board, 'Electric Shock', would be the place to do it. Not here. This place has a level of class to maintain. ES has a level of LOW class to maintain. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Haven't you heard? They have to install and test their new "filtering" package that comes with the software - kinda like what Napster's using, only it filters out words like "Dave", "David Lee Roth", "DLR", "Sammy Hagar", "Red Rocker", "Gary Cherone", "Ray Danniels" and of course "FORD"!
