I can feel the MTV influence there, and I don't like it.

That's absolute bullshit. At least 1984 should've made it.

This is why I refuse to watch those channels.

VH1 isn't that bad. I would rather watch VH1 than MTV, but what pisses me off about VH1 is that they have to make a top 100 countdown of every damn thing and play it over and over again.

Madonna, Otis Reding, The Replacements, Elvis Costello, Liz Phair (get the fuck outta here

), The Pretenders, Nirvana (#2?!

) made the list...

But not VH.

VH's debut changed the way the guitar was played. End of story.

ShaMTV owns VH-1, for those that didn't know.

I've never understood the Nirvana thing and I never will...

There are some good albums on that list, but lots of crap, as well...

The talented people on that list...Elvis Costello, James Brown, Zeppelin...probably couldn't care less...the shit acts...Liz Phair?(WHO?)...probably care a whole lot...

And that number 2 slot ain't doing Cobain a whole lotta good right now...

Relax folks...ain't ONE guitar player on that list besides Pagey and Hendrix who approaches the badassedness of EVH!!!

There's certainly a few choices on that list that are very suspect. And you can always argue placement; I'm not a Nirvana fan, and I'm aware of their contribution to music, but they don't deserve to be anywhere near the top 10 in this case.

1984 is the VH album that I'm surprised wasn't included. While it may not be the most groundbreaking album, you would think that it's collection of hits and massive sales would have easily landed it on the list.

I don't think VH has ever gotten the proper respect in the music industry.

How can any self respecting artist not say that Van Halen I changed the rock world as well as the guitar playing world??

I was also floored that I didn't see "Led Zepplin IV" anywhere. Maybe I missed it, but I don't think so.

How could the album that included "Stairway to Heaven", "Rock and Roll", "Black Dog", "Going to California", "When the Levee Breaks", and "Misty Mountain Hop" be excluded?

"Stairway" is enough to land it somewhere. Greatest song ever doesn't carry any weight to greatest album?
