There's a really cool early demo of Fools on the VH boot called Demo Daze. The lyrics are different, but it still sounds cool.

The version on WACF is great, very different from all of the other songs on that album. It would be interesting to know how a song like this got resurrected in order to be put on the album, since it was written years earlier.

Yeah, it is a great tune. Killer intro from Ed. One of their most underrated songs, IMO.

Normally when I listen to WACF, 'Fools' is
not my fav to listen to. Yet,
when I do listen to it, I get so into the guitar work. It's actually mesmerizing...

Good point, Raldo. The guitar work is what drives the song more than the drums on this one, IMO. From the intro until the chugging riff at the end, Eddie really kicked ass on this one.

I love this song too... especially the jam at the end; Dave is scatting his ass off! Sounds like some old blues/jazz cat - like Louis Armstrong. Dave was/is influenced by these old cats, which is why his blues are so authentic.
