Well, since Seenbad is answering the question seriously;

I honestly don't think this tour is an automatic prelim to a reunion. I think it's great that Dave is sounding good (I'm looking forward to hearing this for myself) and looking good. But even though I think that will help his bargaining power with the Van Halen camp, I still don't think Eddie wants to work with Dave in a perfect world. Dave singing the old songs well doesn't mean he can write well with EVH at this point. And that is really important, because I just don't see any circumstances where Eddie would want to tour with Dave without a new album to promote.

I still think they are too far apart personally and writing-wise in Eddie's eyes, and that money is the only thing that can save this thing. But since there will certainly be a lot of it hinted at, the door won't be closed on this reunion ever.

I think that it is a prelim to VH. While Ed's getting a clean bill of health, I think Dave wants to get the VH sound "back in circulation". No better way to do that than go out and play. Plus, I think that Dave just wants to go and have a helluva time while he waits to see what is gonna happen.

By the way it is very cool to see everyone from pre dome days at the links.

Is Vinnie Velvet still in the mix??

My thoughts exactly. I know all the Daveheads are thinking this tour thing is a precursor to him being back in VH, but everyone said the same thing back when Dave was on tour before. It just isn't gonna happen folks. I'm usually positive about all this stuff, but I think we need to face reality.

While I would love to see a reunion, I just don't feel Edward would ever tour without a new album. There in lies the problem. Writing new material! Perhaps they did give it a whirl and maybe Edward and Dave just can't write together anymore. Having tried and failed, Edward and maybe Alex and Michael just don't want to do it. None of these guys need the money. I think they just aren't interested in the whole nostalgia tour without new, quality (and I stress QUALITY!) music. While Dave on the other hand, just wants to tour. I truly believe that these guys are just at different points on the compass. They have just grown in different directions and are to far apart to come together in terms of writing music. Maybe the magic is no more [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img] [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

I could care less about the REASONS why Dave is out on tour now or the REASONS why his set list is once again dominated by CLASSIC Van HALEN songs.

Dave is kicking ass! That's all that matters.

A Dave show is much better than a Sam show, I have to say. Waboritas??
