Sammy's solo albums don't sell like VH albums do.

Most people like 1 or 2 songs off each album from Sammy solo so they don't buy the album.

The same people WILL buy the VH albums so they allready have all the songs.

Thats why Sammy was against a VH greatest hits.
He thought of it as why make the fans spend their money for something they allready have? [img]graemlins/sssh.gif[/img]

I can't give you exact links or mag names, But Sammy was totally against BOV1.

In my opinion, Sammy did not want comparisions to DLR. I guess, he was jealous of Dave's success w/VH and figured he was now the man why bring up the past.

Selfish? Arrogant? I don't know. But it was probably the main reason for the breakup of Sammy w/VH.

I know that Sammy was against a Van Halen greatest hits album but Zadian said that Sammy just released another greatest hits album. I haven't heard anything about that.

I hadn't heard about this but I wonder if it's probably from the post-VH solo albums. Maybe some unleased stuff or maybe some live stuff as well.

This is the latest "Best of" CD that I think Sammy has put out. It is called Anthology, and came out around the middle of this year (at least that is when I heard of it). It may have already come out, and I did not know about it. I looked on Sammy's web site and he does not list it as one of his albums, so I think it may have been put out by another company. I found it on Amazon.com in case anybody wants to get it.

Hey all,
Sammy Hagar's new best of is GREATEST HITS LIVE,
but was supposed to be released 2 weeks back in Japan.
The release was pulled with no date rescheduled at all, so the release goes into limbo now.
Who know's what's going on. His management never return my calls or e-mails

Dino, the editorial review on Amazon of that album you posted shows it as a re-release of a 1994 compilation. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Hmpfh!!! These blasted record companies! I remember reading about this release a while back and was looking forward to seeing it come out. Now, it sounds like it will go the route of the once anticipated Kiss Alive 4.

You know, the problem with record companies owning the rights to songs is that once you move on, all kinds of unsolicited compilation albums show up.

To date, Sammy has only done two solicited hits albums. Unboxed to pay off his divorce settlement and BoV1 because Danniels forced him into it.
