It seems to me the keyboard is a little cheesy-sounding on the live cut of JUMP on Live: Right here, right now. It sounds thin and doesn't have the bassy undertones that the recorded version has. And its weird too because it was sequenced in and you'd think Ed would be all over it if it didn't sound right. Or maybe it sounded good to them. Am I nuts or does it not sound that good?

Right Now is awesome on Live Right Here Right Now!! Right Glenn? Other awesome live cuts off that are When it's love, Jump, One Way To Rock, and 316, but Right Now is the best off that cd(s).

Youbsittinpretty, you´re right!
The keyboard sound is hard reproduce in live situations and the sound gets little thinner that is "cheesier".
This is also noticable on live versions of Why Can´t This be Love, especially in the beginning notes.
So You are not the only one and your hearing is in shape!

In response to youbesittinpretty, here is my guess, for what's it's worth (yeah, I know, 2 CENTS, right?). If you put back the full bottom end of Ed's synth sound on stage, you have one HUGE sound-every frequency range that we can hear is probably covered. As a result, the fullness of Mike's bass would suffer, and Ed's guitar sound would be reduced to something akin to a hive of swarming bees. Since Ed plays more guitar live than was on the original record, his sound needs some space to fit in the mix. Having the synth sound 'right' would detract from that. So it's a compromise (mixing always is), and I guess they chose to thin out the synth to make more space for the rest. If you were at any of the shows from the tour, you would have noticed the synth sounded much bigger in person than on the live CD, but still not as full as on 1984. Also, unless my hearing is shot, Ed is using DIGITAL synths on stage; the original 'Jump' was performed on an old Oberheim ANALOG synth. This is a debate unto itself (analog vs. digital) so I won't even BEGIN to choose a side there. Anyway, I hope I helped to clear a little of this up.

It's just Sammy improvising. It's not from an existing song/cover piece. Might actually have been a lyric chunk Sam had ready to go. Sounds like he was not expecting the riff that Ed launched into...
