A Message That Is Overdue

Starks' latest message was pure bullshit. To suggest that he did not know that VH fans would take his cryptic message as a sign that some long-awaited news would arrive is laughable. Like all little people with tiny jobs and insignificant lives, Starks gets off on abusing his power.

However, the blame for this latest plateful of shit does not end with Brad -- Van Halen has to answer for what was done to its most loyal fans. When Brad posted his cryptic bullshit under his sig line as "Official Van Halen Webmaster," he acted as VH's agent. It is no different them me signing a letter on my employer's stationery. People have a right to rely on the statements of an agent (Starks) as binding upon the principal (Van Halen).

In my opinion, Van Halen has abused its fans for the last time and message needs to be sent to the band, so that it understands that further abuse will not be tolerated.

I suggest the following:
(1) VH fan websites should consider posting a sign (such as the VH symbol with the red circle and slash through it, a la the No Bozos sign) until VH issues an appropriate apology.

(2) An open letter to VH signed by all the fans explaining what Brad did and demanding an appropriate response and apology -- sent to VH, MTV, VH-1, Dave and Sammy -- I truly believe that neither Dave or Sammy have any hand in this and would probably respond with amusement. I want Ed to be publicly embarassed by what he has done. For years after 1985, Ed was portrayed as the nice guy and Dave the egomaniacal dick -- WRONG. Ed is the dick and he should be called out for it.

(3) Silence -- Boycott the crappy van-halen.com -- even if the Dump opens and some crappy news is posted. Make certain that the site gets no traffic until an apology is posted on this Board and VHND.
