Odyssey is by far his best album IMO. From a song perspective. Unfortunately for him, he has pigeon holed himself into playing heavy metal baroque which is really limited in chordal structure. Beautiful music? Sure but there is a reason why music went from that to Classical and then Romantic. That said, he had a very good run but just never expanded or so it seemed to me.

BTW I found this stuff on Youtube a few weeks ago. Kind of cool as this classical composer reacts to some heavy metal bands.

Ziggy, I'm sure we talked in this thread (or maybe another) about Yngwie being a hell of a blues player. As a matter of fact, many professional musicians/rock stars have cited Yngwie as one of the few guitarists who can stop on a dime and shift from the classical stuff to the blues.

As for this video, thanks for posting. I'm enamored by guys like this who have that perfect pitch. This guy knows exactly what he's listening to. He knew every note, every chord, every phrase. It's so amazing to me.

This one is more song oriented.

If you always search for bullshit on the Internet, all you ever read is bullshit

Oh I think Yngwie is great when he branches out a bit. He has incredible vibrato which if you play blues is required. I think he did a great job covering Light up the Sky., I just want to see him move away a bit from his bread and butter. Has a great sense of melody when he slows down. However he does what Yngwie wants to do and has a great career doing it. Its like Buckethead. Guy can play a million a miles an hour but does stuff that would make David Gilmour proud

all these tour dates being posted in multiple threads and I'm not seeing a whole lot of love for the SF Bay Area. Sucks
