Los Angeles CA: Following the public lunacy and recent mixed messages coming from both Edward Van Halen and his wife, insiders are saying that a major shakedown may have already occurred concerning the actual lineup of VAN HALEN, the rock band that has faded from public view and consciousness.

Yes, according to two well placed industry icons, including Don Was, the well known and liked producer, Edward Van Halen will most likely never appear or record again in the current Van Halen outfit. Both Alex and Michael have stepped around EVH and are now finalising details for a reunion tour and EP with David Lee Roth. Steve Vai has been approached to step in for EVH as well as the maligned Buckethead of recent GnR fame. All depends on availability of either guitarist and it is known that both have current commitments but according to our sources, these are the only two guitarists that the three remaining members could agree on. As for EVH, the truth appears to lie in his public comments and pictures. Edward is seriously ill and has returned to alcohol as a numbing agent for the much more invasive cancer he has than was previously acknowledged.

Now I know this post will most likely go over like a led balloon but I want to ensure everyone out there that I only wish EVH the best and am simply reporting the truth.

No way Alex goes on with Van Halen without Eddie!

Though Vai is great (I've never heard Buckethead), where is the interest for Van Halen without Eddie? In my opinion, there isn't any.

Though this reminds me of those rumor posts we used to get here a while back by someone who posted under Steely Dan tune names...Midnight Cruiser, Kid Charlemagne, etc. Their tune Cousin Dupree would work for this one.
