Now the last time we all saw the original VH live in concert was 17 years ago.
I hope that nobody is expecting men that were around 30 then, to be doing the same shit in concert that they used to do on the next tour.
I was just watching videos of "Unchained", "Little Guitars", and "Dance the Night Away" and "Beer Drinkers, Hell Raisers" and to expect them to be constantly jumping off risers and be the same old kick ass rock and roll show night after night just might not be capable of happening.
They are all between 45-50 years old now, I hope that people won't be disappointed when they see them and expect the VH of 1981 all over again.
This especially goes to all the younger fans that have never seen them with Dave and have only heard of the myth of Van Halen. I don't want them to think, "Shit, what a bunch of old men, they just stood there and played. I will spend my money on Korn concerts from now on."
Van Halen are legends that should never be forgotten about or ignored. Just because they ignore their fans, we should still remember just what it is about them that draws us to them.
PEACE

Dude, I can't speak for Ed, Alex, or Mike, but Dave was all over the stage, doing kicks straight up in the air like they were nothing, and he did the scissor kick off of the drum riser twice...he still has it man!!!!

i wouldn't be surprised if ed took it easy, now that he has a fake hip, but as a younger guy who's never seen them live, i'd definitely not forget, i hate korn, and it would still be the most amazing thing in my life to be able to see the originals up there doing their thing.
and i bet that dave would be all over the place.

I don't expect them to be exactly the same as my videos, but I know that Dave will still be Dave. I know Alex will still probably have his neck brace, Eddie will still act like his guitar is the only thing he loves in the whole arena, and Michael won't be doing any leaps onto his bass. But I think Michael will (as usual) be a great sport, and belt out those high harmonies and play his bass like a bad MOFO. And Eddie and Alex will play very well.
It won't be quite the circus it was, but IF this ever happens, it will still be one of the great line-ups in rock n' roll in front of our eyes."I had a girl beating on my hotel door all night...She was screaming, crying. Finally, I said, 'What the hell'...and I let her out!"- DLR

One gravely mistaken premise that just refuses to die around here is that if you're pulling for the reunion, you MUST expect it to be 1984 all over again when they hit the stage.
I don't know how many I speak for, but I want a reunion just to see what these guys will come up with AS 50-YEAR-OLD MEN.
The original lineup may still have it. They may not. As long as there's no reunion, we'll never know for sure.Edward Van Halen lives forever.

Just as long as they're not crawling around the stage fondling their asses, then I'm ok.

Just a thought:
If the original members do reunite, I'd say it will only be for one album? (my opinion of course)
I mean, there's 2 people involved here that absolutely hate each other, they won't want to work together or try and get anything done together, therefore it will all fall apart.
BUT, then again, I've heard that Mick & Keef hated each other for decades, and they're still kicking on.
Again, just a thought.I couldn't be fecked with this signature.
