Cheesy movie but great music behind it. I caught myself listening to the music more than watching the movie.

I was one of the few that actually saw that flick in the theatre. I didn't know EVH had anything to do with it... UNTIL I heard the unmistakable whale of his guitar and it sent chills down my spine! I've always wanted to get the soundtrack, but I never had any luck finding it. Anybody know where it can be had?

You can get the VHS of The Wild Life through Amazon...but the soundtrack doesn't seem to be available.

You have to look long and hard for the soundtrack.
Try eBay or your local used record stores, and look in their vinyl section. I have it, but be warned that the only EVH penned song included on the album is "Donut City". The rest of his instrumental tunes aren't on it.
Good luck!"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."
"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."
"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

that's write. i also have a copy of the soundtrack on vinyl and there is only one song by EVH on it. the rest of the soundtrack is pretty bad actually. i believe what EVH technically did was "score" the movie which means he is responsible for most if not all of the music going on throughout the movie. i used to be so obsessed that i rented the movie and taped all the musical parts onto cassette so that i would have them to listen to in my car. it was like being a fly on the wall in 5150 studio and listening to EVH noodle a few seconds of music here and there. not many complete ideas but one or two gems. the process was new to EVH and you get the idea he would just let the video play while his tapes rolled and he just threw shit out there to see what would stick.

If I remember correctly, the only song on the soundtrack was the Loverboy inspired "Doughnut City"(sp?)--which has a cool solo in it.
I haven't seen this movie in a LONG time, but if I remember there were about 5-6 "Chicken parts" that turned into eventual songs used by the band.Eat Us and Smile!

One of them turned out to be "Right Now", and I believe another was "Good Enough".

According to www.van-halen.com, in the Music Section, under "Soundtracks":
-Feels So Good
-A.F.U. (Naturally Wired)
-Strung Out (though I don't hear it anywhere)
I also heard elements of:
-5150
-Dirty Water Dog
-I Want Some Action
-Take Me Back
And, I also heard what sounds like a twisted update of the intro to "Women In Love", though I might be wrong.
