April 29th, 2001--the epitome of the current state of VH

Remember this day? This was the day where Valerie spoke in the morning saying Eddie's health was fine, the band was ready to go on tour, and that she was a big DLR fan and a Van Roth fan over the other era.

Then later that day Eddie announced he had been fighting cancer.

Then later (maybe the next day) DLR announced he was 'stunned' to learn Eddie had cancer?

How could that possibly be? It has been said by Sammy he knew about the cancer for years. How could DLR have worked with the band for 3 songs and not known. How could Val and Ed not get their stories straight on the same day?

Now Micheal Anthony is swearing fans to secrecy and spilling the beans, but no one will say.

My guess is that Mike is done with VH and Planet Us is his numero uno priority.

Anyways, I just cannot understand the childishness going on here. SOMEONE should give the fans a straight story. This is absolyutey fucking ridiculous. No band should feel they are so above their fans that they can get away with treating them this way. At this juncture, a little humility crossed with a little mea culpa could go a long way. The longer the lies brew, the more BS that is going to get out there. The boys just need to fess up and dust themselves off, and start over. How about a press conference--just to answer any and all questions? Of course that will never happen.............and that's jsut my opinion, I could be wrong.

I don't think there's going to be Van Halen ever again. Not even with a 4th singer. It is O-V-E-R, OVER. That stupid "official" site can remain up from here to kingdom come for all I care. Maybe the band is technically still a band, but realistically they are through.

Since there is no band, Mike's doing the right thing for his own interests by hooking up with Sammy and the Planet Us project.

Best we can hope for is the Planet Us album, maybe a DLR solo album, and maybe some day down the road an EVH solo album.
