...I think they should start playin' clubs again. Become a band again..become bruthas...drink a couple of beers after the second or third set and just shoot the sh*t...
Do what McCartney did after the Beatles broke up and show up in some far off out of the place nowhere college and walk into the student pub and destroy the place...then they can do the big stadiums and Dave can do the .."quit squirtin' the water at me muthaf*cka or I'll f*ck your girlfriend.." routine.
I need my band to be bros again before I fork out 100 bones for a show...makes it real.

...so they don't advertise before the gig ...they just show up and destroy the place...get alot of press afterward...mend some fences along the way...just like they did in the old days...be bros.

Dave and Ed will never be brothers. Too much mistrust exists between them. Just my opinion!

Actually, I would say that Dave and Ed are more "brothers" than Ed ever was with Sammy or Cherone. They're the only ones who truly know what it feels like to build a legend like Van HALEN together. Nobody else can claim that experience.
Real brothers fight. Hell, my brother was a total asshole to me when I was growing up, and he would probably say the same thing about me. The Kinks, who wrote 2 songs that were made better by Van HALEN, were a band based around 2 brothers that fought all the time. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend, though not genetically related, are like brothers, and they'll tell you that to your face. Their on stage and backstage fights are legendary. Yet a few years ago, when Townsend went public with his sexual orientation, Daltrey was among his strongest supporters, quieting the Pete bashers with "If Pete's gay, well I'm gay too."
Reportedly, it was David Lee Roth who referred Eddie to the MD Anderson cancer treatment center in Houston, where his uncle practices. That's what a true brother does.Eat Us And Smile
Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!
...It's the BAND and Dave is really the cat that can front VH. He sang his ASS off and was really cool. No cheese here guys, this is filet Mignon! - Steve Lukather's comment after witnessing a Van HALEN 2007 rehearsal

I was going to try to get tickets but then it started showing up on the local news channels and I knew there was no point in going down there.
The concern was there were thousands of people standing in the street, all waiting and trying to get maybe two to three hundred tickets. They announced that The Whisky was not set-up to handle that size of a crowd, and wristbands would be handed-out at The Hollywood Palladium, about four miles down Sunset Blvd. Once they made that announcement, everybody scattered, running to their cars to get to The Palladium.
I got wristbands thru a ticket broker. During the show, Eddie handed me his lit cigarette.

It's a nice thought, but it'll never happen.
"There's a Japanese term called wabi-sabi, not wasabi, but wabi-sabi. It means an appreciation for the imperfect, the less than precision. The cowboy boots that you never polish because it's bad luck. That is completely wabi-sabi. Van Halen is that." - DLR 2002<br /><br />"Look! I can see their parachutes! The Rolling Stones, The Black Crowes, David Bowie, Ron Wood, and Bon Jovi are just a few major acts that performed at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT. No police in riot gear needed, great shows, and the best place for Van Halen to do a club gig.
Could this be magic?

I agree that there is a brotherly bond between Eddie and Dave, but put them in a room with business interests at stake and they will find a way to piss each other off. There are always going to be certain people that you feel affection for, but when you get together with them you instantly realize why it is that so much time passes between seeing each other.

I remember an interview with Ed and the band when they were promoting the 3 cd and the topic of Dave and the failed reunion came up. Ed's quote and I'm paraphrasing "it's like hooking up with your ex wife, the first week or two it's great but then you realize why you got divorced in the first place." In a ideal setting I would love to see the band finish up the way they started. These guys should be selling millions of records and touring to packed venues. If Dave and the rest of the band can learn to co-exsist I'd be all for it.
Something else to take into consideration is the type of music Ed would be willing to produce and play with Dave. Given Dave's limitations is Ed willing to go backwards and have constraints put on him with Dave fronting the band. Can he be as creative and experimental as he wants to be with DLR? I guess we'll wait and see what happens."It's now officially 5150 time!!!"

Aerosmith played in Sioux City IA once, and after the show they showed up at a local bar and played some more.
That's one of the coolest things I've ever seen a big name band do.
I too hope VH does something like that.Better use it up before it gets old!

I like bragging about ramen noodles but they really are the bomb. I'm always on the lookout for perking them up. Cheetos are now very popular. So are Cheese Its and Goldfish. When it's late night and...
McDonalds, and be honest.
