So other bands, and Van Halen during Sammy Hagar's presidency have been accused and bashed about serving up cheese, mainly by the extremist radical FORD.
The biggest 'hits' Dave has had were cover's of other people's music, Dave also contributed to turning VH into a cover band, Diver Down is a good example.
Covers with Dave included:
You Really Got me
Your no Good (which sucked bad)
Dancing in the Streets
Pretty Woman
Where hav All The Good Times Gone
Big Bad Bill
Now the DLR cheese
Dance the Night Away..good song, but is commercialized cheese.
Dancing in The Streets...what a load of crap, don't know what sounds worse, the origonal or Dave's horrible hatchet job. He shoulda joined in with David Bowie and Mick Jagger on their version, bet they would have had quite the threesome on that song, right up Dave's alley I'm sure.
Pretty Woman...Dave, please, you ain't a singer as Roy Orbison was. That was an insult to the origonal. Eddie, were you drunk to allow that crap? Cheese all the way, formented mozzerella!
Jump...Jumping on the ole bandwagon with this slice of chedder, nice keyboard sound...keyboard sounds like a $20 Sears special.
I'll Wait...Sour cheese...good thing Sammy Came along so the Cheese could be done properly, that song ruined the whole 1984 album! And the 3 albums previous to it. Kinda like how Highlander II was so bad it ruined the first movie.
Scranama! ...Nice Chorus *lol* Waste of a damn good guitar line.
Then there was all the covers, and of course cheese (very bad cheese) in his solo career. Point being Dave served up his share of cheese with VH too, but the worst was all the cover songs, that was just pathetic, and Dave is still a cover artist, just look at his setlist from his last tour!Life is something that happens when your planning something else.

Your almost as much of an ignorant piece of shit as PaBITCH.
How the FUCK is Dave a "cover artist" by singing HIS OWN FUCKING SONGS??
"I'll Wait" was a lame song because the keyboard hook was written by Michael McDonald, the Sammy Hagar of the Doobie Brothers. And his effect on that band was much the same as Sammy's was on "Van Halen"
That "$20 Sears keyboard" Eddie used on Jump? It's the same one you jerk off to every night listening to "Cheese Comes Walking In".
There is nothing REMOTELY cheesy on Van HALEN's first 5 albums.
Period.Eat Us And Smile
Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!
...It's the BAND and Dave is really the cat that can front VH. He sang his ASS off and was really cool. No cheese here guys, this is filet Mignon! - Steve Lukather's comment after witnessing a Van HALEN 2007 rehearsal

Dude you got a problem. The only way to remedy this problem is to throw you down a flight of stairs. Maybe then you'll come to your senses and stop listening to Journey.

Just when FORD gets Pabs off his back...

quote:
Pretty Woman...Dave, please, you ain't a singer as Roy Orbison was.

Who is? Roy was totally unique.
Just because they sang the same song doesn't mean Dave was trying to sound like Roy. I'm not sure if that's even what you're arguing, but I think that VH's cover of Pretty Woman is cool, regardless. The video is terrible, though. Ugh.

quote:
Jump...Jumping on the ole bandwagon with this slice of chedder, nice keyboard sound...keyboard sounds like a $20 Sears special.

I guess that's why so many people hate it. You just never hear that song. Ever. LOL. Crappy keyboard. If only Eddie hadn't been such a tight wad, Jump might have been good...

Way to bolster your argument, man. Let the professional Cheez-It take over, huh?I agree with you, though. Sam was much better at producing dairy than Dave.

.....and you proved what here exactly?
All bands do covers. Was Sam a cover artist while singing Dave era VH? You repeatedly bash DLR and try to stir shit up for your own satisfaction. I've always stated DLR was the true VH, but I don't make it a habit of scrapping the bottom of the barrel to discredit Sam.

Given that the latter doesn't exist, and I move most things to the Opinions forum, I'm gonna choose door number 1.

Sammy sang some DLR tunes every tour and you hate him because you think he sucked at them. But if Sammy hadn't sung any DLR songs you'd probably be mad at him for ignoring VH's prior albums. So either way Sammy loses."It's so damn hot... milk was a bad choice." --Ron Burgundy, Anchorman
