I emailed Grant yesterday and requested that due to recent news, he remove the cigarette from Ed's hand and the Marlboro logo from Al's shirt. He emailed back and said he'd been meaning to do it, so now was a good time as any. It has been changed.

He probably removed the ? from Dave, given Dave has been the only singer to say they have worked with Van Halen over the last 18 months.

Yep, and when you think that it was Dave's face behind the "?" anyway, it's not as if I could have airbrushed a new face in there! It was hard enough removing the cigarettes.

because I was getting quite a few emails about it. I thought I'd head off these messages by posting why I did it, but after only 10 minutes I've been emailed by some Sammy fans who want to beat the "Sammy vs Dave" horse to death for the 560 squillionth time...

I'll say it once - Dave is the man, his "era" outsold Sammy's virtually 2:1, he's the guy that fans and non-fans (I like Mark Knopfler's "tourist" analogy for non-fans) recognize as the singer, and he's the man everyone expects to return to Van Halen. Enough said.
