Can anybody remember a band that has said nothing for years?? Eagles, Pink Floyd, hell Ratt for that matter, have at least said something, even in pre-internet times.....ALL bands go through rough times but I don't remember a band not saying JACKSHIT for what,...4 years now??? Please let me know if you can think of another band that has acted like VH.....

I know Ed is quiet, private and all of that but as the leader of the band, he should have come out a long time ago and told the fans "Hey! we're on hiatus or whatever?" I think we all would have understood.
Rush, a group who have always guarded their privacy had it's drummer Neil Peart suffer 2 personal losses within a year. He and the band made it perfectly clear to their fans that he would need time to greave from the tragedies. Rush fans have not had to indulge in this kind of speculation. Now word has it that the band has just finished recording their first studio record in 6 years and they plan an early spring release. On top of everything, Rush managed to release a live album.

Good for Rush...They had the class and decency to inform their fans over something sad instead of letting the rumors go wild...BTW I love "Workin' Man"..A great song to hear when ya get off work...

Yes, Axl Rose's Guns n' Roses. Nine years and counting, while we wait for an album. And, to add insult to injury, during the few concerts he's done (four in 9 years) he has taken to singling out fans for ridicule (Rock in Rio III) or calling them "Internet Whores" (2 December concerts in Las Vegas) He's also cancelled a European tour twice.
Talk about gratitude. You don't know how lucky you are.Mr. Horseradish courtesy of the International Horseradish Council and Brett.

Good Point Yesterdays..But the original GNR only put out 2 to 3 albums. If ya follow that with 9 years of nothing and 1 original member left I would change the name from GNR to the A.R. Band.....

Journey was worse to it's fans. After Raised On Radio was released in 1986. They toured for the album and then they broke up without any announcement!
Steve Perry went solo and Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain formed Bad English, and later Neal played in a band called Hardline. Both groups were great! But Journey didn't return until 1996 with Trial By Fire. Even then they never toured because Steve Perry supposedly hurt his hip while running, and he refused to get an operation to fix his hip, so the tour never happened. Also Steve Smith wanted to do Jazz music, so Journey found Steve Augeri who can sing very simular to Perry and who looks like Steve Perry with a perm
and the awesome Deen Castronovo who had played with Neal and Jonathan in Bad Engish and with Neal in Hardline. So the journey continues....
Right Now you're reading my post!
I can't stand rap....people who can't sing do rap....you can sing rebellion as well as talk it....Hitler would have been in a rap band...

It still sounds like Journey put out music (Band or Solo) and didn't leave their fans hanging for 4 straight years!!

Oh, and it's just about 5 albums: Appetite, GnR Lies (EP), UYI 1 and 2, Spaghetti Incident

The Spaghetti Incident? was a pretty forgettable album. That marked the beginning of the end for GNR

It's a terrible album, except for Hair of the Dog. It was put together very slapdash during the UYI sessions, As I believe FORD surmised, Axl was running out of songwriting buddies at that point.
And to add insult to injury, they chose to play the UK Subs' "Down On the Farm" (a decidedly anti-farm song) at Farm Aid.Mr. Horseradish courtesy of the International Horseradish Council and Brett.
