not that anyone cares....but I have done a fair amount of ranting and raving.

I understand unequivocally why Ed has remained quiet. Can you imagine being a public figure and having your son come home crying because someone at school said "Dad has cancer and is gonna die??" Also Ed isn't that bright in the whole PR thing - I do feel he has the best interest of his family - at heart - which is why they have been so quiet. Plus - confirming that DLR is/is not in the band prior to his recent openness would have been viewed terribly by the fans - without us having any real understanding as to what was/is going on. That being said - he must be in good health; his wife is touring - supporting her new show; he has finally let us know why is going on - with positive news (I doubt we would have heard anything at this point had it not been for the positive aspect).

All this being said - Dave jammed with the band - left in July. Probably right around the same time Ed new things were not bright for his health; and said "Dave - let's take some time." Dave thinks fine - that's cool; lets not rush things. Months 1-8 go by and he finally lets out the statement saying "Huh?? - how come no call." Keeps things positive as he doesn't want to screw himself.

In the mean time - Ed, Al and Mike screw around at 5150; more just recording riffs and such. VERY light stuff - Ed ain't workin to hard for obvious reasons. Mike and Al are probably his two closest friends - they understand and respect the time that Ed needs.

Val mentions that Dave hasn't called Ed recently. Ed is fine with this as he needs the time. Ok folks - here is where we need the faith....Dave picks up the phone. "Ed I love you - lets make sure you are well - I really want things to work out between us!"

A few more months will go by. Ed is feeling stronger and puts on some MUCH needed weight... Ed calls Dave (or Dave calls Ed again) and they all start to work together on some of the basic riffs the guys had cut. The sound will be fun, lighthearted and rock; they all have good reason to celebrate; especially Ed.

Currently - the sky is blue in my world - so this thought might not be that far off... [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

If/when Ed is well, Dave will be back, there is no question in my mind.

Ed will get better, I beleive that, however a huge tour of the world may not be a possiblity anymore, ever. Maybe 25 - 30 cites in North America, 1-2 cities a week at most. Just a guess.
