Here's me monkeying around in my rinky-dink studio with a new one......

It's rather fun hearing myself slip off beats by .5 seconds and shit.

You are getting there, man. The improvement from when you first started is evident, and your transitions from the fills to time keeping are much better.

The next thing I'd recommend you pursue is your bass drum work. The dum-chat-dum-chat works for the tune, yet you may wish to work in a few more bass drum beats, such as dum-chat-dum dum-chat, dum-chat-dum dum-chat. You'll find that by changing it up from time to time, it will not only improve your time keeping, it will make those fills from the toms sound more full.

Keep up the good work, and best of luck.

Yeah......the bass drum is a beast I have yet to master. I'm using it at a pace that works for the most part, but I have some way to go on using it to its full potential. Fuck, I'm surprised I made it this far.

Thanks for the feedback, mon frer.

I saw a kid that same age in a music store about 9 months ago playing on roughly the same level and I damn near had a heart attack watching him.

Here's a couple of picture's of my son's kit. Two of his friends are coming over to do a bit of jamming.

The neighbors are also having a yard sale.

It could be an interesting day.

It always fascinates me the manner in which truly gifted people can make what they do appear to be utterly effortless. Check out this young fellow's flawless playing along to John Bonham's "Achilles..." rhythm track. The guy has never had a drum lesson. A few pics of my son's new kit. He's really committed himself to drumming for the last year or so. Has two friends that play guitar but no one played bass. Turns out there was someone all the time, but they just never hooked up till now.
