The sont is off their "Contagious" CD that came out in '86 or '87. I bought the CD when it came out and I thought the song had a very Van Halan sound to it. I don't think it's about Roth because the lead singer/guitarist of Y&T is Dave Meniketti, hence the "big man Dave" reference. The CD was their best as far as I'm concerned.

I've heard that Edward has thought highly of Y&T in the past. Even going as far as to say they were one of his favorite bands. I don't know if that's still the case, but I always thought "The kid goes crazy" sounded a lot like "Hot for Teacher". I don't think he would have to put the guitar down because Sammy played guitar live with VH, although I consider Meniketti a much better lead player than Sam. As a guitarist and vocalist myself, I wouldn't hesitate to put down the guitar if it meant joining the greatest band in the world! we know who the lead guitarist in VH is and he is incomparable. Vocally, i think Meniketti would be a great fit. I don't know if he has LSD or not.

Y & T were great in my opinion. Meniketti has a good bluesy feel about his playing.

In fact, check out his solo CD "On The Blue Side". It's freaking awesome.

I didn't know that...when did his solo CD come out? I'll definately look for it. Know quite a bit form them...have many of their CDs. Just didn't know Meniketti had his own CD out.

I don't think Dave Meniketti will fit in, yeah Y&T was a great band, it's a shame they do no longer exist, but if you take the guitar from him, you never have a frontman, showman, then DLR would be.

Meniketti would not fit in. I do like his music though.

His solo cd came out in 1998.

Also, has anyone checked their "Endangered Species" cd? I think it came out about the same time........that's a great rock n roll record that no one has heard. If you like old Y & T, this one rocks.
