My apologies if this has been covered before.
I realize people like different VH 'eras' and specific tours for different reasons. But considering just the setlist, which tour was their best?

BTW, I'd have to go with either the Balance or VH3 tours.

the balance tour setlist stunk
the III tour setlist imo was the best because of the diversity in music. there was plenty of dave and sam mixed in including some goodies that hadn't been played in 20 years.

Hey! Fuck all you guys! The 84 setlist covered everypart of Van Halen!( none of van hagar) from the first album to the last. I would probally preferr the Fair Warning tour if I had to pick.

Diver Down tour was the best in my opinion
1984 setlist was weak because besides Unchained and Everybody want some, they played nothing from VHII and nothing else from Fair Warning or WACF. Still a great show though.
Balance tour just sucked. Weak setlist and the show I went to seemed like they were going through the motions.
VHIII - great. Best setlist and performance since the Dave era. Too bad the VHIII album didn't have the same attitude and enthusiasm as the tour

VH3, particularly the Philly Spectrum show....that show fucking ruled. I also dug the last leg of of the Balance tour when they were opening with Right Now and brought back Mine all Mine and Runnin'. The Live tour was pretty good because they didn't have to support a studio album.
Pick up the fucking phone Eddie and call someone!!

And the setlist still hasn't been played for 20 years. Even though everybody knows that Dave kicks Sammy's ass, why would anyone go to see a guy sing Sammy songs and Dave songs. I don't fucking get it. It just doesn't cut it. I'm shocked they were even able to sell enough tickets to see the show. Their setlists from 1986 and onwards have always been one sided since the Dave era stuff fell to the wayside, as the Sammy shit would not be played if and when Dave reunites with VH.
