Yeah, I read that response, at the end of the message Brad makes a point to say that WB did not drop VH.
I dont understand either, why VH would not think that is newsworthy ??

Eddie's list of things to do this week:
1) Fire lawyer
2) Drop WB
3) Get rid of that fucking deadbeat Starks.
4) Call Dave!
(we can only hope....)Eat Us And Smile
Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!
...It's the BAND and Dave is really the cat that can front VH. He sang his ASS off and was really cool. No cheese here guys, this is filet Mignon! - Steve Lukather's comment after witnessing a Van HALEN 2007 rehearsal

It's absolutely un-fucking-real that VH didn't think leaving the label they've had their entire career was "newsworthy." There's no sense in keeping that from people - I'm failing to see their logic, or lack thereof, I should say.

We all need to hear that large POP!!! of the collective VH head being removed from it's collective VH ass!
Ed's first words will be "Hey, that was newsworthy!"
Then he'll notice just how large that head of his has become. They're more of a corporation than a rock band now. Do you believe? Don't you trust me?<br /><br />"I'm just trying to get in to heaven, I'm not running for Jesus." - Homer Simpson

some more of Brad's comments, he's talking about not saying anything about the WB split
------
Not exactly. I did find out when you guys did, but the band told me
it had been done a month ago. I never said I knew when it happened;
just that it happened a month ago.
On another note, some folks have been saying that this info *is* newsworthy
and doesn't agree with the band's stance that it isn't. So, think about this
for a minute: Warner Bros. could have put out a press release when it
happened, which they didn't. They obviously didn't think it was newsworthy
either.
As I said in the email that Grant forwarded for me, it's really not that big of
a deal. Bands change labels all the time. Times change, needs change, etc.
Brad

VH and WB don't think it's a big deal? Doesn't anyone care what the public thinks is a big deal? Somethings really starting to smell here.

With this news, it has become painfully obvious that they are not working with Dave. Why? Because WB probably has been saying the same thing since Gary left to this day: Work with Dave, or we wont back anything you do.

WB doesn't care, they probably got to keep the rights to the old recordings, so they still make money. maybe VH doesn't care because they have a new home lined up already. this isn't even a day old yet, it's still too early to call. could also explain comments like "once lawyers get involved," maybe they were trying to extract VH from the evil WB from June to December, who knows.
bottom line-do any of you care what label name is in the corner of the CD case, as long as the VH name is on the front? i don't give a fuck if it comes out on goddamn K-Tel records, just give me some new VH.

I DON'T care what label their on but it is news when they leave a label after 25 years right? I think that's pissing people off the most.

i don't understand why it's such a big deal nothing was said. they'll end up working for someone else. i do find the ins-and-outs of the industry interesting, but personally, it doesn't bother me much. Warners is a shithole anyways, ever since the AOL merger they've been shedding bands and bleeding money. a VH and WB split doesn't affect us, it's not like the quality of the music will change, cause it was bad when WB released III. i'm interested in the split, but it makes no diff to me, any new disc comes out, i'm still gonna go down to Best Buy and pick it up whatever Tuesday morning it comes out. unless they end up selling a disc solely on the Internet, a label change doesn't really mean shit to us. you're still gonna pay $12 for that piece of plastic, it just comes to the store in someone else's box. whoop-de-shit.
