I dont know the first thing about proving or disproving this. I just see it there, and thought you would like to know about it. Is it a boot (cover)?

Thats an odd one. The only thing I can think of checking is the order of the title code numbers.. but they seem to not be in any particular numerical order so thats no use... I wonder if some old cover of steppenwolf that got listed but not released?? New song?? Fuck up??
Ahhhhhhhhhh gimmie the spagetthi can, I gotta work this OUT!

Seems to me you wouldn't register something on a bootleg. ?????
Didn't someone here mention a cover song from '66 being on the cd? What year was MCR??? I thought '67, but I could be wrong.

Gotta give seenbad some props for this detective work, even if this may or not mean anything. This list did get me thinkin' a little though...The songs from the Dave-era are partially administered by Diamond Dave Music...and with the release of the remasters, I'd assume would mean more money to Dave. Now why would the VH brothers sit around and say, "Let's make Dave more money???" LOL!

That is an easy one, because it also means more money for them.

Solid research Seenbad.
I hope this isn't true.
Please VH, no more covers.
Don't tell me you couldn't come up with an entire album worth of original material.

I don't mean to burst people's bubbles here with ASCAP, or should I say ASS-Crap, but I was doing a little more research on there, and with Aerosmith's new album all set and ready to go, and knowing the new single is "Jaded" it isn't mentioned on there. Furthermore, I was looking at the Aerosmith Section and they are missing several songs "Write me a Letter," and "Pandora's Box" are just to name two of them. I wouldn't hold much stock with Ascap.

Remember guys, artists do register songs also with BMI, like VH's "You Really Got Me" is BMI I think. So those Aerosmith tunes might be BMI. Also, no you don't register songs unless they appear on a legitimate album or recording. Bootlegs and unreleased tunes would not be registered.
BTW I did see Aerosmith's "Pandora's Box" on BMI, whatever their new stuff is isn't on there yet.

Dear God no. I called a local Atlanta radio station a few weeks ago and told them that if I heard Magic Carpet Ride one more time that I was going to puke. That has to be the most overplayed classic rock radio tune ever (along with More Than a Feeling) and it isn't even that great of a song IMO.

Seenbad using his shovel the right way. Dig on Brudda Seen.
Personally, I would be shocked if VH used a cover song to be the first single. These guys know the value of perception, and releasing a cover song as the first single would send a message that their best, most accessable, song wasn't even written by them. That would be an error in my opinion, and I don't see it happening.
I wouldn't be too upset with a cover tune on the album, but again, I wouldn't bet on it. We all know Eddie's feelings on the cover tunes.

Thanks for the compliment
On the other hand, it is probably the most effective way to get back into circulation quickly and effectively (by applying their sound to an already familiar tune). They have NEVER really gone wrong (publicity/$$ wise) with bowling out a cover. Tactic, as you know, commonly used in the earlier days. The original fan base is also familiar with them using this technique.
Idunno.
