What if Ed announced that he felt he had nothing left to accomplish in rock and had decided to dedicate his talent to, say classical music. Would you be pissed, or would you would you understand and support him?
(I actually think he would be excellent in a Pat Metheny style jazz trio).Man, all I can do is make music and put it out, and if people like it, they like it, and if they don't, they will sooner or later.- EVH

I would understand, support, and look foward to anything he put out. After all, he is not only a great guitarist, but also a superior musician.
P.S. Just imagine a classical guitar CD by him..
How awesome would that be!! Class Dismissed!

I would be very disappointed. Eddie is the greatest guitarist in rock and roll history. It would be a pure shame for him to let it go and pursue something else.
Buttocks and crotches and nipples with wings, these are a few of my favorite things!

Cello has some power, too - see Apocalyptica for proof. I'd love to see what Ed would do with something like that.

If Ed came forward and spoke to his fans like they mattered to him, I think he'd have everyone's support.

I Would Buy It
I think that it will be cool if he could do a solo cd ... like Yngie did and Satch , George Lynch ,Paul Gilbert etc etc...
EVH: Definitely. Playing guitar was my sanctuary. It was the one place I could go to if I got fucked around by a girlfriend, or anyone else, for that matter. It still is. If there’s something I can’t deal with, I can just spend hours playing. It’s a God-given gift – I certainly don’t know where the ideas come from. They’re obviously given to you, and you have to keep your fingers moving and your mind quiet. I try my best to not think about thinking, so I can just let it flow. Because when I start thinking, forget it. <br />So....why he isn't playing guitar ? ? ?

Now what would be totally the shit would be a Van Halen Mariachi Band... that would rock!!! Woke up this mornin, got Blue Moon in your eyes...
Great record. And Akira Takasaki is definitely one of the best guitar players of the 80s, one of Eddie's most talented "musical sons."
Songs that sound like Van Halen,...
