is dave really saving =VH=

....hey i like dave , in fact i would love to see him in vh again ,...but it cracks me up when i see posts that say dave or else ! do you really believe he is saving the band ? and you would boycott the band if their was singer #4....hear we are with no music , no info ,..and we are still glued to the band.....i think if we strip it down to the lowest comon denomenator it's ed !

It's the fact that Van Halen has been a laughing stock for 5 years. Very few people took VH3 seriously and even fewer would take another singer seriously.....and it doesn't fly to say 'let the music do the talking'. Warner Brothers won't put the money into another lineup after taking a bath with VH3.

VH are too late in their career for a fresh start, no one is interested in EVHs soulmates and new age meandering (except for the hardcore). Van Halen means Dave (or Sammy), Eddie, Mike and Alex. It's not about Dave saving anything, it's about recreating chemistry and public interest. They lost it in '96 with the MTV debacle, letting the Dave rumours go on for so long and then not delivering would bury them. 'We didn't say Dave was in' moral victories don't sell albums or concert tickets either.

Who would be stupid enough to take the job at this stage anyway?

1. vh blazes on with countless singers and different side projects
2. vh has 3 diferent singers dave,sam and gary - and going back to dave is gonna really make his ego explode

If Van Halen and Dave really want to recapture their past popularity, the only way to do it is with each other. VH3 showed that for Eddie, Alex, and Mike. As for Dave, without VH, he's doomed to BBQ restaurant tours, sorry to say. This could be the biggest tour of all time done right. Let's hope our dreams come true.

VH 3 didn't bomb because it wasn't Dave singing it bombed because Gary was a bad choice for VH. IF they find someone other than Dave that can help write great music and who can fit in to VanHalen's type of music They can have another number one hit.
Having said that, I hope the singer is David.

I diasgree. VH3 bombed because no one was interested in VH after it looked like Dave was in the band. The fact that VH3 sucked didn't help, but hardly anyone bought it or heard it to know.

VH is a 20 year old band - they aren't gonna find anyone else with the right chemistry. And even if they do, WB won't put any money into it and no one will buy the album.

It's irrelevant whether it's a great album, that's not how the music business works.
