Yeah, I bought it. Up to that point, Van Halen had never made a truly bad album. I thought even with Gary it would be a sure thing. I didn't know it wasn't a band project at the time. Oh well, 1 bad album out of 11 ain't bad!!

Never even considered buying it. Stayed away on purpose as my way of protest. I got great pleasure in seeing it fail because I blame (right or wrong) Eddie for the '96 fiasco.

I don't even acknowledge the Gary "era" happened. In fact I don't know why people call it an era. Dave was an era. Sam was an era. Gary was an album.

Yeah I bought it. It was the second VH album I bought, after 'Best Of Volume 1'. I listened to it nonstop for a few weeks. I thought it was great. It go me even more interested in the band (along with Best Of), and led to me buying the rest of the catalog.

As of now I think it is one of their 3 worst albums, but that's not saying much considering I LOVE each one. I don't think it gets enough credit, and most of the negativity is derived from the 1996 Dave/MTV debacle. If that hadn't happened, and the album had better production, I bet it would have been recieved better.

I hope that in a few years more people will realize what a good album it really is.

I've bought every Van Halen album the DAY IT CAME OUT, since OU812.

We don't care if you DIDN'T buy it!

And it was an 'era', just as much as the Dave and Sam years were 'eras'. Gary was in the band about 3 years, recorded 1 (almost 2 albums) and went on a world tour. That can surely be considered an 'era'.

However, there was NO Mitch Malloy 'era'

I bought that one in the tin also. I remember thinking to myself there must be a mistake this isnt VH.

That VH3 tin is good for putting change in.

Excuse me for thinking this thread was directed at only the people that did buy it.

Well, if you say so. It wasn't an era to me.
