Yeah, it sounds pretty promising:
HARDKNOCKZ: Would you take the stage with VH again?
GARY: I have no problem, but do you really think Dave would have that?....
Well that was pretty much a confirmation on who is the singer, huh? That is if GARY even knows.
You know, I still have this feeling that this is all planned. That article that Grant posted on VHND about an old interview he pulled up of Dave, re: using the silence treatment to the max and spreading booko rumors, it's too "right on course".
Didn't talk much about Gary's new album, though.

If this is legit, I'd say we have a winner with this one!

Heck if Gary's still friendly with VH he may be working for them in a way or helping them out with all this. Maybe they calculated when Gary should start coming out and speaking!

Good point Wes. With all the silence treatment going on from all sides, might as well get Gary in on it.
They knew he had a new group, new album and there would be interviews. How difficult would it be for the VH camp to give Gary a call and say, "Hey Gary old pal, do us a favor, milk this for all it's worth. We don't want you to say anything official, you know, but help us out and tease and torture the crap out of the fans, would ya?"
Hmmmmmm.........I don't know what's right from wrong anymore....I guess Dave is getting exactly what he wanted.....

I just finished reading the interview, and once again Gary shows what a fine human being he is with the comments he made. One statement he did make had me wondering. For those of you that have yet to read it, the question is:
"Will this split end up as the mud slinging affair like the previous two versions of VH?"
Gary replies:
"Not from me. There is, of course, differences. It's expected. I would hope that the band take the high road as I have. There has been no slinging at all from both sides."
I'm wondering what differences were there? Gary kind of contradicts himself there, stating that there have been differences, but then says there has been no mud slinging, which we all know. He's obviously upset about something. I wonder what happened.
I think it's fucked up that the band bowed to label pressure. It's really screwed when a band like Van Halen, with their longevity and proven worth, has a label that supposedly stands behind them for their entire career, only to have that same label twisting the band's arms as they blatantly did. It's times like this I'm glad I never pursued my dream of being a musician. I'd be telling record company execs to go fuck themselves 6 ways from Sunday every five minutes.

VH knew what they had to do well before any label put pressure on them. I think even Gary knew what had to transpire.

Thanks for clearing this up, sherm. I knew something was a little fishy with that interview.

There's now an interview with Bart Walsh up on the Hardknockz site. Very confusing interview.

Hey, if it took Warner Bros forcing VH into taking back Dave, well, Warner Bros. would get a high five from me, cause its what needed to be done. Because after the slow sales of VH3, it truly was "Dave or the grave" for VH. Warner is in it to make $$. The way to make $$ is to get Dave back. Simple business, simple solution.
