Sammy and Dave Show

I just finished watching it and I've got to say it takes talent to create an hourlong program with a huge archive of old and new material and NOT have anything new to say on a subject.I think I know less about VH and the situation since watching it.It sucked knowledge out of me instead of giving it.

I agree. It was a huge disappointment. Nothing new, nothing any of us didn't already know 1000 times over.

10 minutes on the Sam & Dave tour itself. If that. I don't know why i'm surprised or expected anything more then a quick wrap up on that at the end. But the naive optimist in me expected the entire hour to be about the tour.

On the plus side, we got our Van Halen Behind the Music now I guess..

I thought it was a pretty decent show, especially the history of VH part. Wow! Memories!

As for the present and future, being a die-hard Roth fan it's hard for me to say that I cringe at the thought of a VH/Roth reunion or even a "Sam and Dave" tour. Dave needs to really figure out what side his bread is buttered on and everything Sammy said regarding it rings too true. Harsh reality even for a Dave fan like myself.
The whole point of the special made me realize one thing: this band is truely missed!

I thought it was a pretty good show, I really liked that they were showing footage backstage on the Sam and Dave tour, does anyone know if the parts with Sammy backstage is going to be a part of his documentary that he is supposedly making? I think this show was probobly the next best thing to Van Halen:Behind The Music.

Did you guys get a look at the size of sammys dressing room backstage. No wonder he was so uptight all summer. The halen brothers remind me of the Corsican brothers of the Cheech and Chong days. What a disgraceful state of the union of a band that had a such tremendous impact on my generation and the music and video industries.

It's a sad state where Van Halen lives right now!

I have always been a big fan of VH from day one and always wanted to see Dave back. I can not say that anymore. He is borderline embarrassing.

It's funny how an hour of video clips of the guy changes one's mind. The past is the past. I will always love Dave's days in VH but I hope he is not in the future plans of the band. MO.

P.S., yes we did finally get our Behind the Music!

it first aired on east coast at 12:30 in afternoon....

it was okay. a lot of stuff we've all seen before. the last 1/2 hour is where it flashes to the tour. before that it's all back story. nothing really new said....although it's interesting to see sam say right nest to mike that he's not really looking for a reunion unless it's a Dave & sam tour with VH....

other than that, there were some fun moments. like dave saying sam's always knockin on the windshield of the tour bus with a bottle of tequila in one hand and his (bleeped out) dick in the other...

but i have to agree with hagar (and im no fan of his) that it did seem like dave wouldnt do the interviews, etc. i read a lot of interviews about the tour this summer that always seemed to say "dave didnt make the scheduled call..." or that they waited for dave to show and he didn't...

i dont know i still find him funny but sometimes i wonder about his reality...

I saw the Sam and Dave Show on VH1 and thought that it was pretty good. I had mixed emotions though when they showed the clips of the 2 singers when they were in Van Halen. I loved seeing the old and not-to-old footage but it was tough to re-live 1996-present time.

I thought it was interesting to see Mike with Sammy when they asked Sam about a possible VH reunion. Mike looked a little nervous.

All in all, I enjoyed the show. Hopefully, this will put an end to another chapter in Sam and Dave's career. Is going back with VH the next chapter or just another pipe dream???

I thought it was pretty good. I did find it interesting that the "inevitable" reunion with Sam and the band has now been reduced to Sam and Dave need to do another show so the fans don't get robbed kind of thing... Did I miss something, or is that pretty much summing up the reunion hopes aren't a reality for the fans??
