If Brad's cryptic byline is an announcement of the return of the Dump, an update of the Wolfgang Report, or anything other than real, live VH news, he might as well be playing in heavy traffic on the San Bernadino Expressway.

We, the long-abused VH fans, have long since lost our sense of humor about this band. We are tired of the endless "no news is good news" and "news is not newsworthy." We want real facts, not riddles.

If this cryptic message is yet another douche-bag attempt at humor, they might as well close the official site and we should congratulate WB on bailing out on a sunk ship. Even VH loyalists, such as Grant from VHND, are showing their frustration with the bullshit. Another asshole move by this band, will destroy the last remnants of a once-great fanbase.

Anything less than real news -- i.e., reunion, new singer (heaven forbid), or a tour schedule -- would be the equivalent of playing chicken with an oncoming 18-wheeler.

But you know what, we Van Halen fans are like abused spouses. They can come home drunk and bitch slap us all over the place and if they release a new CD ever again, you know we'll be buying it. We can pretend that we are going to turn our backs on them all we want, but if/when a reunion happens, we'll be buying the concert tickets and the new CD. Gotta tell you, if this turns out to be nothing, and Brad doesn't get fired, and/or the band doesn't apologize in some way, I'm pretty sure I will NOT be as big a fan when they finally get around to doing something. I'm not sure I will go to a concert, or buy the album. Van Halen has been one of the few things outside my family that has given me great pleasure, but this could be it. Maybe not, but it could be. I know if the above occurs, I will finally give in to the fact that we are getting screwed, which, to me, is a very big deal to admit. How much that affects my future "fan" status remains to be seen, but it won't be a good thing.

If this turns out to be a countdown to nowhere, VH will quickly learn what WB figured out with VH3 -- fuck with your fans once too many times and you'll be left fucking yourself.

I did not, and would not, buy VH3 because of the bullshit about the reunion. It just so happened that VH3 sucked, so I did not miss a thing. But, the fact is that me, along with many of my fellow loyal VH fans, had decided to show VH whose the boss.

If this is bullshit and there is no reasonable explanation or apology for it, I will walk away. And, from the posts I read, I will not be alone -- but Ed, Al and Mike might be.
