Edward: If not DLR then go solo

Edward if David Lee Roth is not returning don't make your band a laughing stock by getting a new lead singer. If he is not returning just go solo. Just think you won't have to tour as much and you can spend more time with Wolfie. I can just see I am going to get burned for this one.

I just want to say I have been a fan of this band for over 20 years and I would love to see DLR return to the fold. But if Edward and Alex can't get along with him why force a relationship that is and always will be a strained one.

First off if anything I would say the brothers themselves are torn apart somehow? Now if that ain't a new one then I don't know what is!

On the lighter side of making decisions for EVH I would have to tell him to do a "compolation" rather than a solo deal. Or both, who knows but I'd like the idea of a EVH/EC/BBKing type deal. That would be pimpin' IMHO

YankeeRose I respect you opinion but I have to say that I do not agree with it. Yeah, I probably would buy the CD if their was a new lead singer but I rather see Edward, Alex, and Michael go the route I spoke about if Dave is not returning to the fold. I think they would be better off that way.

How is it that Eddie can go solo? By forming a band where there's no Al or Mike? I don't think he's likely to do that. Wouldn't make any sense to do that.

I agree with ya AJW. I'd buy a new VH disc the day it came out, no matter who was singing. But I'd rather hear Ed do the solo stuff he's always wanted to do instead if there's no Dave.

MikeL, let me rephrase my post. If he goes solo he should take Al and Mike along with him but also have other musicians involved on the project.

So if Eddie goes solo w/o the band: Will the tour be called "So many say I" TOUR?
Or maybe if the band is with Eddie maybe Michael will sing the songs?
IMO Eddie has always been (in his and my mind) SOLO!! Van Halen is Eddie's solo project...any questions?

I'd buy the album a hundred times no matter who the singer is. But the only thing that would stop me from buying the album is if there were no Mikey. I don't think VH would be as good if Mike wasn't there. His singing is as distinct as Ed's playing.
