Dear Ed, Al, Mike and David:

We all know a new album is coming out soon. Continue to enjoy yanking our chains as we all wait.

However, if you need to go on an award show and mime to your latest single, which features a verse that sounds like a Dave Grohl reject and a chorus that is completely forgettable, and employ useless female dancers, snakes, et al, to try to cover up the fact that you've become nothing but overaged corporate product manufacturing clowns, then please retire instead.

    ------------------
First six albums rule. In addition, the following represent the only two Y2K release in the world that are preventing me from losing it altogether waiting for the VH reunion.

    King's X Please Come Home...Mr. Bulbous

Its wasn't vintage Aerosmith, but sure beat the hell out of any other performance on that show.

Aerosmith is done like dinner, they've been done since Pump & even that one wasn't a great album, decent but not all that great. Everything they do now sounds like 'CrAmazing'.......pure 100% crap. I hope to God =VH= doesn't go down the Aerosmith path, if they do anything to resemble Aerosmith of the 90's & beyond, I'm done with 'em.

Aerosmith is a joke now, IMO. Their performance at the AMA's confirmed that. If our boys ever decide to go any where near their direction, I think I'd have to jump off a bridge.

I guess Gary Cherone is the best musical talent to come out of Boston. Cause it sure as hell ain't fuck'n Aeroshit! "Oh oh Jaded." Hey Steven, go fuck yourself pal. What a pathetic fuck'n looser those old fuck'n wrinkled up has beens are. If Sammy were to join Aeroshit they would complete. They would be COMPLETE shit.LOL Oh well, their was a time when Aeroshit was good. Wait a minute, no their wasn't! What the fuck was I thinking. "I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep cause I miss you baby and I don't know how to fuck'n sing."Peace out Steven.

I couldn't agree more. No VH is better than an Aerosmithed version of VH. Aerosmith has gone so soft that even Bon Jovi calls them pussies.

Word of caution: I made the mistake of putting Aerosmith's Greatest Hits (old) in the CD changer with Big Ones (Aerosmith's newer greatest hits collection) and hitting the random play button. Nothing hurts the psyche like going from "Walk this Way" to "Angel" (the undisputed beginning of the pussification of Aerosmith).

    Just a quick clarification:

In their prime, Aerosmith was quite possibly the finest band in the world. 'Get Your Wings', 'Toys In The Attic', 'Rocks', and even 'Night In The Ruts' and 'Permanent Vacation' are all seminal records. Especially 'Rocks'. As a musician, they have been a huge influence on me.

Any negative comments from me is a reflection of their current status only.

I find it hard to imagine that people still don't grasp the concept of the rock ballad.

Just thought I would add to this as well, Aerosmith has always been one of my favs too. I would agree that : DREAM ON, WINGS, TOYS, ROCKS, DRAW THE LINE ETC., is some of my favorite rock music. I have that Live "Bootlegs" on vinyl, some great live Aerosmith music on that. (1978 RELEASE)

Cant say that I really care for some of the music they are making these days...

    IMO Only !!!

To clarify my comments -- I do not hate Aerosmith.

To the contrary, I cut my proverbial rock'n'roll teeth listening to my older cousin's original Aeorsmith 8 tracks. "Dream On" is the quintessential rock ballad.

My problem is that the current Aerosmith appears content to rely on the same hooks used in Crying, Amazing, the Armageddon song, and release sickeningly-commercial pop radio fodder when we know that they are capable of true genius.

You can't blame N'Sync for being N'Sync -- they probably cannot aspire to anything more, but you can sure as hell blame Aerosmith for being N'Sync (playing their own instruments).

All said and done, however, I personally think that we will ever see such blatant commercialism from Van Halen.

Unfortunately, at the same time, we all have been on the VH rollercoaster for more than a year -- Aerosmith's roller coaster at Disney World only last 3 minutes and its a lot more fun.
