Ever had any moments in your VH-loving career where they made an impact on you or someone else?
For instance:
A friend walked into my house at night once when I had the Best Of video blasting out and the Hot For Teacher video was playing. He said he heard some "ass-kicking" music going on.
Anything like that happen to you before?

Great Post! My first memory of a great Van Halen moment was: I was waiting in my 1978 Cougar for a friend and was blasting the intro of Hot For Teacher on the stereo and he came out and stood outside of my car for a few seconds with a weird look. He then got in the car and said he thought something was wrong with the car!!!!
I said NOTHING is wrong....this is VAN HALEN!!!! He said, man what a great drummer!! You have to understand that this guy WAS musically impaired..now he is a VH fan!! (This was back in 1989)

Greatest momment....right here right now! My girlfriend broke up with me today after 3 1/2 years and how do I cope? I'm sitting back listening to every fuckin' VH song known to man. Call it corny or call it mourning, but this is what it is all about! I got my tunes, my guitar, some suds and noe girl. What can you do?

I know man, something similar happened to me recently. Wasn't a girlfriend, but similar. I try to have VH make me feel better. I hope VH can help.

In 1992 I got two friends hooked on Van Halen. The next time VH rolled in to New York, they went to see them for the first time. The very next night, they walked in to a room full of friends of mine and when asked how the concert was, my friend Keith screamed, " I have just seen Christ!"
Other moments of personal VH satisfaction:
1) Aresenio Hall introducing them as the greatest American RNR band ever at the 1991 VMA's, and then the band performing "Poundcake" to back that sentiment.
2) Van Halen beating out Nirvana and RHCP in 1992 for Best Video of the Year.
3) Van Halen's FUCK beating Metallica's Black album and GNR's "Use your Illusion" at the 1992 American Music Awards for best Hard Rock\Metal Album.
4) Guitar World Magazine voting Eddie Van Halen as the Best Guitar Player of All Time in 1993...prompting some editors to cry foul over Hendrix not winning in the editorials.
5) Van Halen going #1 with every album after Dave left to prove they were bigger then his ego.
6) Every poll that rightfully has Eddie as the best guitar player...which is almost every year in every guitar publication.

Besides seeing Van Halen in concert, my greatest VH moment was:
I was on my honeymoon in Aruba and went on a 'Booze Cruise' type of thing. Cheap drinks and music blasting on a hot, fall night. Anyway, towards the end of the cruise, they anchor the boat and let you swing from a rope into the water. The first song played was 'Jump'. By the time it was my turn, the guitar solo had just started. My wife just sat there with a smirk on her face.

It was a long time ago now....I wanna say that it was somewhere in the middle of the album when that *ahem* fateful moment occurred. I remember I had first put the CD in the player when she first came into my dorm room then the activities commenced from there...
It was probably the middle of the album when the magical moment happened....Maybe Source Of Infection was playing at that point.....It was 9 years ago...hard to remember for sure

Probably my first VH moment. The fact that the moment I heard Right Now I was captured by the band.
Of course, everyone has to say when they finally could put names with faces for the band members without cheating

Hard to say for sure, but judging by Holmes’ more 70s glam rock look, I’d hazard a guess that it might have been JUST prior to the ‘Women and Children First’ sessions or just after he got the guitar...
