Now that we see some of his blackbelt moves, anyone here do martial arts? What do you think of his technique? What is that style he's working i (okay i know i iknow jack shit about the black arts so ofcourse the question could be more than a little stupid).

To me it looks not a lot more than a bunch of poser moves, but i would hate to be at the end of tha sword regardless.

Dave's being studying martial arts for years.
Some people know some moves and others actually study the art. I always thought his moves looked cool.

Looks pretty cool to me. I could almost imagine this being part of a Van Halen video (alternating between live performance shots and this). Probably should have been one of the first clips DLR released rather than the midgets,etc.

One thing I enjoy about these videos is that it shows different sides of Dave's life. This is what he does regularly.

Lose the techno beat, make it more rock crunch, and have more of the singing, and not too bad. The couple of times he "sang" on that cut, I could picture it being okay to some harder rock. Hey, not comparing that to old DLR/VH, but to what's out there now. Beats the rap rock bullshit.

I'm pretty sure a couple of kids in my neighborhood years back studied a similar form of martial arts, and at competition, it wasn't hand to hand, but how well they executed these different stances and techniques, and with how much precision. This looks to be what Dave is about in the different martial arts activities, like some of the moves he pulled on Carson Daly's show recently, where the moves look cool with the music, but he's definitely not dancing old school style. Haven't seen the new video at Dave's site,
but I'm sure whether people like the music or the moves, his precision is right on nonetheless.
